Coldplay's Chris Martin to write opening anthem for Prince Harry's Invictus GamesColdplay frontman Chris Martin is to write the anthem for the opening ceremony of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games — the international sports event for wounded service personnel to be held in London. An audience of 5,000 is expected at the South Lawn of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on 10 September for the spectacular prelude to the four-day event. It will include a performance of the anthem by Martin.The opening ceremony, to be shown live on the BBC, has been put together by Kim Gavin, the creative director of the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony. ---- Tickets for the Invictus Games went on sale today. Pipe bands are awesome! I would love to be able to go to be honest (stupid Atlantic!), and I think it's an honor to be asked to write the song. Chris actually mentioned Prince Harry in one of the radio interviews he did yesterday (BBC2 I think) as being one of the charitable causes they back. Now we know why.

A special edition of The One Show featuring live coverage of the uplifting Opening Ceremony at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park including a fly past from the Red Arrows and bands from the Army, RAF and Royal Marines. And of course the Competitors’ Parade featuring all 400 plus servicemen and women from the 14 nations taking part."No mention of Chris' performance, let's hope he's still going to be there. Doesn't look like Chris will be there then. Although the line up sounds great anyway! We saw Rizzle Kicks at the Christmas gig in London last year and they were great fun. And Diversity are awesome! Should be good, I will more than likely watch it regardless.

Everything's not lost! Rizzle Kicks and the others are the closing concert. Chris is during the opening ceremony.
