I remember that! I was still taken aback by it.

A US team in the Olympic Ice Dance Skating tonight is using a CP medley including mixes/pieces of Paradise and Fix You, mostly Paradise. Omg, what a thrill to hear that come on!!! I love the Olympics and this made it a hundred times better. I really think the energy brought from these songs was unreal and made it such a great program. Even the announcers said that music is everything and that the music was perfect. Yeeeeee!

A singer of some sort. I didn't know either until I read the article at the link. Still, nice things about our guy!

From an interview with musician Rae Morris: “During a formative writing trip in Los Angeles, her record company even hooked her up with Chris Martin, in the hope that he might help to steer her in the right direction.
' Oh, I was sick, I felt that nervous,' she recalls at the prospect of meeting the singer. Martin, who was living in LA, had just flown in from London but headed directly to the studio rather than back to Gwyneth. 'I knew he was needed at home, yet here he was, listening to my demos, offering constructive feedback. He was so sweet, so kind to me.'
His influence was evident throughout Unguarded. The songs on her first album were largely mournful, piano-led and introspective. Several tracks concerned the relationship she was in at the time, which was with a woman. This brought an all-too-predictable media interest in the then-23-year-old. 'Morris had never anticipated becoming a role model for the LGBT community, she says, 'but if me being bisexual meant that my songs connected with people who might have been going through the same issues, then wonderful. That whole album was me finding out who I was. Looking back, I realise I didn’t really know. I certainly wasn’t ready for success. But I am now.'
Yet ambition, she says, has always been bubbling away beneath what might have seemed to others a fragile surface. 'Oh, even when I was riddled with self-doubt, I still had ambition. I remember watching Coldplay play stadiums, and I just wanted to be where they were. I would watch them and think to myself: why doesn’t Chris Martin know who I am! I just wanted him to know that I existed. He does now.'"link

Yeah, we'd all like to see Chris' parts. I mean, the Chris parts.

Yes, his beautiful voice is there. Sigh. I knew she'd probably sing it by herself in concerts, etc., but like I said, I watched it anyway.....just in case. You know.

I'm a big change from my post above! We love football, but not being fans of either team, especially the Patriots, we had it on but we were playing a game at the same time. By halftime, though, it was all Super Bowl, and we were pulling for the Eagles big time, haha. Being Redskin fans, it was weird to pull for the Eagles, but we were so sick of the Patriots and really wanted someone to win that's never won before, so we were really happy about that. What a great thing to hear, Cathy. Very inspiring.

Dua Lipa was on SNL this past Saturday, and she did sing 'Homesick' but no Chris on vocals and no Chris on piano. I didn't really think it would happen, but hey, a girl can hope.
Also, I didn't hear anything Chris related from any Dakota talk show visit last week either.

More on the upcoming DVD. People are worrying that Mat means that it's the last DVD they'll do instead of maybe him meaning that he's sad the project is almost over or something like that. One other person said he was talking about some sort of software he's using. I don't know, but I can't let myself think anything ominous about it, so I'm posting this just to say it's coming!

A Feisty Miley Cyrus Opens Elton John Tribute with “The Bitch is Back” at Show that Features Ed Sheeran, Chris Martin, SZA and Shawn Mendes by Roger Friedman - January 31, 2018 12:31 amThe word from the Theater at Madison Square Garden is that the Elton John Tribute was off the charts good. (The show airs April 10th on CBS.)
Miley Cyrus opened the show with “The Bitch is Back,” and from there it was one hit after another. Highlights included Ed Sheeran singing “Candle in the Wind” (which I told you yesterday will be on Elton’s tribute album), “Rocket Man” from Little Big Town, Alessia Cara took “I Guess That’s Why They Call it the Blues,” Sam Smith handled “Daniel.” Elton’s peeps kept the acts to all young people and contemporary stars of now– no old guys. So Kesha sang “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” Sean Mendes let SZA get on her Kiki Dee for a duet on “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” Miranda Lambert handled “My Father’s Gun,” Chris Martin sang “We All Fall in Love Sometimes,” and John Legend played “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.” Lady Gaga, as I reported yesterday, pre-taped “Your Song.” Of course, reports are that Sir Elton stole his own show with a rousing finale of “Bennie and the Jets,” “Philadelphia Freedom,” “Looking Up,” and “I’m Still Standing.” Lots of well known faces in the audience, by the way, including Anna Kendrick. I had a lot of reports of a dramatic moment when Neil Patrick Harris read a letter from late AIDS patient Ryan White to Elton with Jon Batiste providing background music. Apparently there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Elton’s friendship with Ryan White was one of the reasons he started his important and groundbreaking AIDS Foundation. PS I heard tonight that Elton has chosen the musical act for his and David Furnish’s annual EJAF Oscar party following the Academy Awards. It’s Greta van Fleet, the hottest new rock band out there. They “out-Zeppelin” Led Zeppelin, according to my sources. That Oscar party is so much fun and raises so much money for AIDS research. But also, Elton picks absolutely the best new musicians as the featured entertainment. Can’t wait to hear these guys! What a great season of Elton John. He’d better not retire after all! link
