This album feels like an adventure. That feeling of adventure isn't really on any other Coldplay album I think, not even MX. Viva just has this "Let's go out and live life, visit old historical places and paint pictures while watching the sun come up over the distant hills". If I was stuck on an island, I would take this album with me. Hell.. if I was stuck in time forever, it'd be with the Viva era. It was so magical. Check this out if you haven't already. It's amazing.

I really like the album, easily my third favourite from the band. I see it as a real return to form after the slightly disappointing X&Y, and it really seemed like the band were pushing themselves, trying new things from everything from the sound, production, marketing, appearance etc. Eno obviously had a big influence, they had the real advantage of having Phil back full time and their new studios all brought them back together with a sort of gang mentality. As i mentioned, X&Y was a bit over blown in every sense (i still really like it), but Viva was more raw (and the perfect length) and the songs were a real evolution. Theres a lot of great songs, the only slight bum note is Lost... i just can't love it

Cool this a great description!!! I think there's something really special about the way CP creates a mood with each CD, the way they choose the songs and the way they order the songs.

Violet Hill. The guitar on this is phenomenal. Rock on Jonny and Guy.

Viva was the album that got me into Coldplay. My brother's buddy let him borrow the CD, and I heard the two of them listening to it, and I was like, "Yeah, yeah this is cool!" I kept hearing "Viva la Vida" everywhere; at school, on the radio, NPR I think talked about the band one morning while we were listening before school. The point is, it's my favorite album and I even used one of my favorite songs off the album for my senior art show video. I love this album, it is one of my favorite things to listen to and probably always will be.

I love this quote Keaton! Seriously. I agree totally. Viva is my favourite album. I love all of them, but like you say this just has something special. Magical.

GORGEOUS video! I love Will smiling at the camera, and the little boy on his Dad's shoulders.
