Comnservatives are seen as supporters of the more privileged and Labour as the 'working class' in general terms, over the years though the lines have become quite blurred

It's a total shambles.. Teresa May has failed miserably. The DUP is a dreadful party, in favour of things like making abortion illegal, against gay marriage and gay rights. It's not going well over here.
As far as I know Cathy, Conservatives are the Right wing, in favour of the monied people, against socialism and things like that. If you go far right enough you get into racists and stuff. Labour is the left wing (or used to be) in favour of the workers, social change and if you go left enough you get into communism. (that's VERY basic I hope someone more politically minded can explain it better). We also have a liberal Democrat party.. which is pretty much non-existant nowadays. I usually vote Lib Dem, but without much hope of them ever coming back to power.

Hmmm Boris is.. unique. He is conservative, and was Major of London for a while. He comes over as a public school buffoon, but I really think that's just a front and he is really rather sharp. No I don't think he is as bad as Trump.. (thank god).

Terrible news from London again, awful tower block fire which has already killed 12 people but sadly we know its going to be an awful lot more. I cannot begin to understand the sheer terror that those poor people had to face, horrible stories are emerging but also, again, the 'British Spirit' rises again and everybody is helping in any way they can.
It seems that is quite a poor area but surrounded by those well off, but the news programmes are showing us people from all ethnic communities, poor people, well off people are all pulling together to help, this is how it should be x

News said it was a possible gas leak. I can understand that, if it happened on the 4th floor, and the building wasn't fire resistant; then the flames could have run up the walls and into the pipes/AC system. Fire rises so it probably worked it's way up with ease unfortunately.. RIP.

It does. You just know that fire probably happened because landlords/building inspectors/safety inspectors etc in charge of that apartment building weren't doing their jobs or didn't care, or wanted to cut corners to make money for themselves.
And today the news is all about skeevy Bill Cosby in his sexual assault trial. *Yuck*

Terrible news again with London! The stories are so sad. Also there was an explosion at a kindergarten in China ,several injured and some killed.So very sad! The only positive news so far is Trump is being investigated for obstruction of justice!Is it too early to plan an Impeachment party?  |
