Chris is only mentioned as the writer of the anthem, didn't see the phrase "written and performed by Chris Martin", drats!

Choir weeps over Coldplay uncouplingSpare a thought for members of the Games Makers Choir, who thought they would be singing alongside Coldplay’s Chris Martin at the Invictus Games opening ceremony next week, the Prince-Harry-backed sporting event for wounded soldiers. “We have some very exciting news!” ran a jubilant email to choristers, dated August 1. “Chris Martin, of Coldplay (yes Coldplay), has created an anthem for the occasion, and we’ve been asked to provide the choir accompaniment for this brand new song.” Head honchos at the choir even started circulating a prospective rehearsal schedule to see if they could round up enough members of the choir — who are made up of London 2012 volunteers from all over the country — to participate in the event being held at the Queen Elizabeth Park. However, just 12 days later, members of the choir were forwarded this email from the Invictus organisers: “Since last we spoke, things have changed regarding the choir,” it read, ominously. “Coldplay have requested that we use a choir they have previously worked with.” Coldplay’s PR office didn’t respond directly to The Londoner asking why the choir thought they had been booked. “Lead vocals will be sung by serving military servicemen,” said a spokesman, adding that one of the established choirs that sang at the opening of the Olympics Games was now being used. Games Makers Choir manager Liz Stainthorpe has brushed it off. “It’s just one of those things,” she said. So is it crossed wires, an almighty cock-up or a verdict on the choir? We contacted Invictus but they never got back. linkso coldplay are very hands on. but still not clear whether any would actually show up for the event.

Well, if Chris just landed at LAX, I guess they aren't there? That would mean he is 2 days at home and have to go back again. To me that doesn't sound logic...

In typical fashion, there are articles that lead you to believe they will be there, like THIS ONE but then others that lead you to believe they won't be there and others that are so vague that you can't figure it out one way or the other. I do find it a bit odd that he would fly back to L.A. only a few days before the opening ceremony. Of course, he's done it before, so we're left with a 'wait and see' situation again. You gotta hand it to him/them for keeping us on our toes!

I found this on the Daily Mail site. link"Thirteen nations, including Afghanistan, will compete at the tournament, which takes place at some of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games venues. At the opening ceremony, Coldplay’s Chris Martin will perform the official Games anthem and there will be a flypast by the Red Arrows. The star-studded closing ceremony on September 14 will see performances from acts including Foo Fighters, James Blunt and the Military Wives Choir. Thousands of £12.85 tickets have been sold and some events are sold out. But the 29-year-old Prince remains nervous. "Oh, of course I’m nervous,’ he said. ‘There are times when we thought that we’re just never, ever going to get to the finish line. If all the venues sell out, then I’m happy because it’s all about the atmosphere and making these guys feel really special. 'All they want to do is make sure they’re fit enough and ready to put on a show for the public who have been constantly giving money to Help for Heroes and the other Service Charities. People are coming because they want to show their appreciation,’ Harry said. The Prince admitted the idea was ‘stolen’ from America’s Warrior Games, a similar event for injured US soldiers, now in its fourth year. However, he first considered the idea after his first tour of Afghanistan in 2008. He recalled: ‘I came back on a plane with three wounded guys all in induced comas. I think a Danish soldier died, so his coffin was underneath us. That for me was where it all started,’ he said. The name ‘Invictus’ – Latin for ‘unconquered’ – was inspired by William Ernest Henley’s classic poem of the same name, which tells of strength during times of adversity. Countdown To The Invictus Games, BBC2, 9.15pm, Sunday EDIT - OK sorry Sharon already posted the link. Oh well late to the party again
