I saw "A Most Wanted Man" last week. Had to confirm with my husband what exactly happened but Hoffman was excellent. I still miss him. Saw "The One I Love" On Demand and enjoyed it, cute little movie. Watched "The Other Woman" today--Cameron Diaz chick flick fluff but I was by myself and had done some shopping and gotten a nice dinner so it fit the bill.

I am finally watching the Hunger Games: Catching Fire. We are with a bunch of people of work at an open air film festival. It's raining!
Okay, like the film, but of course mostly there for one thing...

My mom, sister and I saw "The Hundred Foot Journey" and really enjoyed it. Just a nice story.

Mostly of course Prissie. I saw 'Lucy' the other day. What can I say? Good premise, excellent idea, in my opinion poorly executed. I love Morgan Freeman as an actor, and really like Scarlet Johannson, unfortunately I was expecting some more science, less gun fire, car chases and people getting bloody. I thought it would be more cerebral. Shows how much I know about Hollywood really LOL! Basically a stage to show off special effects and Scarlett with super powers! Having said that, if you like car chases, guns, and super heroes, you could probably love it! Just don't expect anything deep. Overall a fun way to spend a couple of hours, but not what I was expecting.

I get what you're saying. They had two totally opposite commercials for that movie on tv, one was "cerebral", and one was all guns and cars. They were clearly trying to reign in both audiences. I couldn't tell which way the movie was going to go from the commercials but I had a bad feeling it would go all "guns and cars".

Not that "guns and cars" is always bad... (I LOVE the movie Gone In 60 Seconds.) But it's kind of disappointing when you're expecting to see something else! And that trailer was sooo misleading. I was excited for the movie when I saw the first trailer and then I saw the second one and I was like, what? No.

I do get tired of the guns and car chases trope, it's just lazy storytelling (unless it's done super well, like in the Matt Damon Bourne Identity movies). I like movies where people have conversations with each other!

I bought "Lone Survivor" on my iPod. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I knew what happened before watching it. But I never knew how intense it was going to be. I got emotional during certain scenes. This real life story is one to always remember. It's amazing how we have people who sacrifice everything for their brothers and for us. The scene where Lt Murphy sacrificed himself to call for help was too much to watch. RIP Danny Dietz, Lt. Michael Murphy and Max Axelson.

I went to see it a while ago expecting lots of action and lots of bullets and lots of death. But even so, it was still more... I don't even know the word i'm looking for....Disturbing maybe? More emotion invoking than even I expected. I do have the highest regard for people who protect us and our country. You most definitely get emotional watching that movie. It is very intense.

We saw "This is Where I Leave You" with Jason Bateman and Tina Fey tonight. It was decent with a fair share of family drama, tears, broken people, happinesss and laughs, BUT the best thing about the movie? I was surprised to hear 'Reign of Love' being played during a pretty pivotal part of the movie. Forget the pivotal part (which the hub was trying to take in despite me pulling on his sleeve repeatedly saying, "Listen!"), 'Reign of Love' was playing! I had to wait through the credits just to see their names.

Remember the movie Julie & Julia? (About chef Julia Child and blogger Julie Powell)
It was on TV last night, I've seen it before but it's one of those films I love and can watch over and over again.

I watch it whenever it's on as well, the scene where Julia finds out her sister is pregnant (because she can't have kids) gets to me every time. I watched Devil Wears Prada the other night when I was feeling down. The main character kind of grates now, but I still like to watch that one whenever it's on too, I like movies set in offices, for some reason!

Yeah that is a touching scene. They really seem to love each other, both couples, it's beautiful. Ooh Devil Wears Prada is good too, long time since I watched it.
