Okay, so this is my best attempt at Buckin. The quality is terrible because I recorded this on my 50$ guitar, not my nice one! haha. The song is called, American Graffiti, but I'm also gonna call it Buckin. I'll rerecord it this weekend. I tried to take a funny approach but it didn't work out. So This was inspired by HLH and ETIAW. You could say its about bromance and not caring what others think. Guitar tuning: C#F#C#F#C#C# capo 3 Chords: (020200), (000200), (440200), (222200), (000200) Wakin' in the morning by the light of the sun Being chasing by shadows and we're on the run Written in graffiti on every wall Fight the oppressor till they fall Always stand united and strong Because One day we'll raise the flag and show the world That we've won Oh you, yeah you All day and night Running through city streets One day we'll bust through the concrete They're trying to catch me pound for pound They're trying to catch me cause I made a sound And I won't feed them the bullets to shoot me down Oh no I won't feed them the bullets to shoot me down Oh you, yeah you Oh you, yeah you.. I recorded it in a hurry because I have to go to work now. But here it is. Forgive the vocals, not the best. LONG LIVE BUCKIN! soundcloud.com/lifeoftechnicolor/american-graffiti-buckin-new

This was a thread on Coldplaying, right? How did I never post in it? Anyways, I fucking love writing. I feel it's genuinely the only thing I'm actually quite good at. So that's sort of neat. I've been working on my second novel since around 2012, and recently, it has been coming along fantastically. (Restarted it about five times. Switching from first to third-person is a test on your abilities, I swear.) It's rather minimal, but nothing makes me happier than having positive feedback on it. I have a blog I run, but it's focused more on photography if anyone's interested! www.joelhulsey.wordpress.com

I already shared this on the other thread, but here's one of my pieces, composed a year ago.
It's based on a four chord progression of Bb minor, Db major, F minor, and Eb sus4 to Eb major. There's a bridge of chords Bb major, D minor, Ab major, Db major, F major. Then it returns to the original chord progression. The melody is played on a shimmering flute, and accompanied by piano, ambient strings, a minimal drum, keyboard, and trumpets.
Hope you like it. Feel free to provide feedback. I also have more songs on my channel, and I have many more great ones in store that I'm working on right now.

Even though I cannot offer any technical contributions, as a listener, it is awesome! I look forward to the ones you have in store for us!
Great Buckin' contribution!
And I'm off to go read a novel blog!
edit: I have really enjoyed reading through your blog, Joel. You have an absolute writing talent.

Recorded this earlier today. Did it in a rush because I had to leave for work. Voice was a little off. No name so far and it's far from finished. soundcloud.com/lifeoftechnicolor/kozanedit: It has a name now. EOTU. It's abbreviated, you'll have to guess.

Love
How long can you fight the darkness Before you find it in yourself Fight the pain, fight the fear Hoping t doesn't destroy all you hold dear The greatest battle lies within But only with redemption can you hope to win One day you will find the light And then you'll know how to make it right
Sunlight will bust through the rain And cleanse all the pain So you can start again
Get out of your head And go into your heart Don't let the world cut you down to size There's so much to love If you open your eyes
Sunlight will bust through the rain And cleanse all the pain So you can start again
And deep down Where actions define our sounds Your heart's still beating To what it surrounds And maybe one day, it will come back around And deep down Where actions define our sounds Your heart's still beating To what it surrounds And maybe one day, it will come back around
Sunlight will bust through the rain And cleanse all the pain So you can start again..

LONG LIVE BUCKIN! soundcloud.com/lifeoftechnicolor/american-graffiti-buckin-newI love the song, and your voice is amazing! Aww thank you so much! edit: Found an older song of mine that was inspired by Lost. Lights On The Horizon(La Chanson De l'avenir)
When I look around I see bridges falling down I see towers soaring Past the speed of sound Just because they added fuel to the fire Doesn't mean you shouldn't fly any higher No matter the burning desire
Don't give up Don't give in Don't be afraid to change a thing The sun will shine for you From New York to Berlin
We'll finish what we started Won't leave disheartened Just give it your all Just give it your best Could be different from all the rest You'll never know if you never try Could be blue, like the endless sky
Don't give up Don't give in Don't be afraid to change a thing The sun will shine for you From New York to Berlin
The sun will shine for you again.. Yeah the sun will shine for you again...

Got inspired by my favorite Coldplay song(and also one of my favorite movies that GP is in) to pick up with a really old song I wrote back during the Viva era. The Old Painter(The World Of Tomorrow) Running through summer fields Without a sword or shield Painting life in mind One day we we will know how to find The world of tomorrow Without any pain or sorrow And go painting, life in our minds Watching the colors come alive The sun will shine When we arrive It's still in the works, and subject to change.

Inspired by AIMH.
Renaissance
Can you feel the breeze Jump the trapeze One day at a time Speak love's language and rhymes Let your mind wonder Let it ponder what you want to Find someone who's made for you..
Say what your heart feels Your eyes will always.. See what is real
There will be the one Life's a renaissance Keep discovering your horizon Let it take you wherever you go Even when you may not know..
Say what your heart feels Your eyes will always.. See what is real
Always..always Say what your heart feels Your eyes will always.. See what is real

A song/poem I just wrote while listening to Andvari by Sigur Ros: Shut Eyed You sold the world Whose winds danced and twirled But you're gone and there's no more love You'll live unknown Falling free and shut eyed I know.... I don't feel light I don't feel I can survive I don't feel I don't feel light I don't feel I can survive I don't feel Why so woeful? You are my one world You.... You don't know, do you? You don't know me You don't know Do you? You don't know Do you? I don't know you But you are beautiful You don't know you're Beautiful... I know... (DTE) Also I love the new songs, Keaton, especially Love. It just makes me feel happy.
