Anyone read books? I am sure you all do. But any recommendations for us? Personally I love mysteries, stuff that makes you tingle.. two books I read recently which are pretty similar in the way they keep you guessing are: Close My Eyes - By Sophie McKenzie. Before I go to Sleep - By SJ Watson The latter was my favourite one. Well written and keeps you guessing right up to the end. Any recommendations for me? I am looking for a new book to read.

I'm a slow reader and unfocused, I drift off thinking about something else and have to start over, so annoying. I've realized I mostly read books by Swedish authors, I certainly need recommendations. Good thread! Have you read the Millennium series by Stieg Larsson? I liked them, the first two especially. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium_series

No I haven't, I will go and have a look. Thank you! I also read murder mysteries, chick lit and fantasy novels.. LOL I am a bit of everything girl.. as long as it has a good story and is well written I will read it. I love the fact that I can just download books now.. no need to go to a shop or a library, just click and there it is. Kind of addictive I'm afraid!

I liked to read the Wheel Of Time series by Robert Jordan. The last book of it I read in Englisch because it was not out yet in the Dutch language. My al time fav is The Ice People. I have read it only once, 20 years ago. www.amazon.com/The-Ice-People-Rene-Barjavel/dp/0515029130/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410875304&sr=8-1&keywords=Ren%C3%A9+Barjaveledit: I just now read the reviews on that link - they are all so enthousiastic about the wonderful story! I too did give copies of that book to some friends - so that they were able to read the grand story too. I gues that is why I only read it once; just to keep the memory as it is. In Dutch the title is: "De liefde van Elea" or "The Love Of Elea"

I've read the Outlanders series from Diana Gabaldon a couple of years ago. She is still writing new pieces and the first book has become a tv-serie on HBO recently. Can't watch it unfortunally. But if you love the history of England/ Schotland and fanatasy, then this are really good books.

For dog lovers, I recommend: The Art Of Racing In The Rain. Best dog book ever.

Oh cool, I love dogs.. although I currently have five cats, so it's unlikely that I will be getting another dog any time soon LOL.. not if they have anything to say about it, and they do.. often LOL. Have you read Marley and Me? I know it's a movie, but the book is 100 times better (as always).

The winner of this year's Nobel prize in literature will be announced in an hour Haruki Murakami appears to be a favourite this year too, and also Adonis. I haven't read either of them (usually I haven't ), but Nobel times are still exciting. Patrick Modiano. French author, unknown to me, sounds interesting from what critics and the Academy says. They haven't got in touch with him yet, so we know before he does

One of my favourite books is Chocolat, one of the books that I can read over and again, its better than the film but I do picture johnny depp as the male lead because he played it so well I got hooked on Harry Potter as well after much nagging from my daughters, I love a good story with a bit of magic thrown in
