iccp: That is really hard to imagine if you haven't been there. I can't believe people react like that, although I know people are doing it. These days people only see the differences of people instead of the uniqueness and the beauty...

Amazing that people still can only see the colour of people's skin, rather than the person. It must have been very difficult growing up with that. I do think it's fear, fear and ignorance a lot of the time. But of course there are still blinkered stupid people out there who only judge by colour or sexual orientation.
One of my best friends came out a few years ago and her own sister still won't speak to her.
People are people. And should never be judged in any other way.

It must have been very difficult growing up with that... well, it did get annoying (especially the name calling) but thankfully, most times i was surrounded by a community that didn't care what i looked like so it only happened when i was walking or something. i ignored it when some people called me names. Mom & dad would scold them.

I just thought i'd add this: i don't feel any resentment about being at the receiving end of all the staring and the name calling. i don't feel bad at all. i just hope that those people who still make colour an issue will one day see that peace works. i'm living proof of it. i love being mixed.

Your forgiving and positive attitude is also a credit to your mother who sounds strong and who instilled in you self confidence and compassion. As I tell the students in my school every day, it's so much harder to cause trouble than it is to be peaceful. I hope one day people will also see that peace works - in many ways.

Why. Can't. I. Write. Anything. Without. Hating. It. Later.
*this was the 3rd attempt at this post*

I'm sorry Amelia. Are you working on something for school? Could it be that you've gotten to the point that you are doubting yourself so much that you are sabotaging your efforts from the get go? If it's not something due right away, maybe put it away for the time being and clear your head with another activity or two. I can feel the frustration in your post. :( I know it's hard to give advice from across oceans not knowing what's really going on. My son had a similar situation and he had to put writing down and then when he wrote again, he just wrote and didn't stop to analyze it so harshly. I wish I could help. Good luck with it.

I am working on French stuff, and I'm as bad at writing that as English right now. It's not that bad really, just a rough patch I guess…? I mean I would love to write something. I don't know. Maybe it's just that I don't have room for writing right now. Sorry, I'm rambling, this is what I mean. I will think something is amazing at one point and then later just delete all of it and it's a problem with French as well because I need to write more of that and I can't. I don't think putting it aside is an option because I've done far too much of that already, which may well be the issues. So perhaps I should do the opposite. I dunno. But thanks for your input anyway, it is much appreciated

I'm like: "YES I'M GONNA DRAW THE MOST EPIC THING" *pen barely hits the paper* "Wow I hate everything" -___- I can confirm though, it is very much affected by my mood. So maybe we share the same problem? I think putting it aside is a good step. And then, what helps me most, is, doing something completely different and then come back later to that task you're having problems with. Most of the times you then have another viewpoint and it's easier to solve the exercise!

Maybe a mind map can help to get focussed again? It depends on the topic if it makes sense or not though.

Most of the times you then have another viewpoint and it's easier to solve the exercise! yep that's me. About two weeks ago I told myself I was gonna write a book and look how that turned out *laughs slowly* Yeh I guess I do need to just stop thinking about it and try again later and stuff. At least with the writing cause there's no time limit on that. The French… I will find a way… And yeh Dustin mind maps might help. If I mind map something like what people do on work experience (which is what I have to write for French) then I might come up with some amazing idea… or something at least Thanks, guys. and what I mean by that is "s**t I should post here more often"

Hugs Amelia. If its any consolation, I think you are an AWESOME writer..
OK rant warning..
WHERE IS MY SON'S BED?!!
Andy waited in for SIX hours this afternoon. In the living room, by the front door in case delivery men crept up to the front door, tickled it (rather than knocking) and left..yes that has happened before. So he waited in.. on the sofa RIGHT by the picture window overlooking the front garden. Delivery was allegedly between 12 and 6.. Did it arrive? well, what do you think?
Nope..
Oliver was disappointed! Andy was angry and I got both of them moaning at me!
ARGOS you SUCK! grrrrr....

Ugh, that is annoying. I paid extra for shipping to get something here in two days, and it took 5. Refund!
