Nothing's cooking but, I'm excited because I finally got my new kitchen calendar for 2017. I love to have a recipe calendar in my kitchen, and my wall was empty for the first week in January. So, there's my food related excitement for the day.

Well I didn't have the apron yet... and it wasn't very good. Had I been wearing the apron and making it for Chris though, that would have made it much better!!!!

I've been craving tuna lately. Canned tuna! On pizza, in salad, on bread, with pasta, any way. For some reason it feels sinful to eat canned tuna, is it? Or is it OK if you get the dolphin safe good kind? I wonder if I lack something, I like to think I do when I have cravings. Tuna is high in iron and selenium I think. Also, I want lots of orange juice.

I've been craving tuna lately. Canned tuna! On pizza, in salad, on bread, with pasta, any way. For some reason it feels sinful to eat canned tuna, is it? Or is it OK if you get the dolphin safe good kind? I wonder if I lack something, I like to think I do when I have cravings. Tuna is high in iron and selenium I think. Also, I want lots of orange juice. Fish is high in vitamin D, and orange juice is too if it's fortified. Maybe because you're getting so much less sunlight in the winter? I like to think that cravings have some biological basis too....

I read about a fascinating experiment they once did where they got two groups of babies, one with nutritional deficiencies and one without. They put trays of different kinds of food in front of the babies, and the ones with the nutritional deficiencies chose what they needed for their diets on their own without being prompted. Very cool!!!!
