I'm going to be honest, Chris singing U2 doesn't sound right to me. I'm not particularly a U2 fan, but Bono does have that way wailing out a song. I think Chris' style is much different than Bono's.

I agree, but I did like the second song he sang.

Both write songs that fit their particular voices, styles and tones, so yeah, it was strange hearing Chris sing a U2 song, but he was better suited for With or Without You. I'm just thrilled because he was thrilled. You could tell this was a lifelong dream come true for him. He's done nothing but praise U2 and Bruce Springsteen and grew up with them, and now here he is fronting the band he loves so much and rubbing elbows with Bruce. He was like a kid in a candy store. "Dreams come true for all young and old people alike!"

It has to be such a proud moment for all of them. A dream come true.

I watched the live stream on my phone in my bed because I couldn't sleep, and had one of those old fashioned proud fan moments. He could never replace Bono (and vice versa) but I was just so happy for Chris. Must have been an unbelievable experience for him. With or Without You sounded great.
Bruce Springsteen was also weird to watch. It always seems like it takes him a lot of effort to sing, I get tired looking at it. But I'd love to go to one of his concerts.
Also loved Chris' T-shirt, subsitU2. Haha. I wonder if he came up with that because Bruce wasn't wearing one.

^Yes I can't imagine being asked to sub for Bono and sing those iconic songs, must have been overwhelming. And LOL at your comment about Bruce, I agree with you. But I guess there's lots of fans that love his style, it takes all kinds. I much prefer Chris' bounciness.

No, they can't take places. They are the best in their own bands. But I did also love With or Without You. Wel performed, sounded great. Indeed, like Imke said, it was just moment of fan proudness. A dream came true, to Chris, but I loved to see him that happy. Like a kid in a candy store.

I agree with you all.. It was lovely to see how happy he looked. Almost overwhelmed, but never letting it stop him being the true professional he is.
