fyi, there is widespread belief that stargate are the producers of lp7. i do think this is probable with them having worked on miracles and chris saying the producers are norwegian. the thing is, stargate make nothing more than formulaic sugary pop. their credits do not have one worthy songwriter(s)..

We have to hold on and wait for what they give us. I liked most of MX, hopefully AHFOD will be like the good parts of MX, if that's the way they're going.

I don't believe we get another MX. Every album was different, so I believe this one will be different again.
Don't ask me what it will be, I have no idea. I will be patiently waiting

Yeah. We just have to wait and see what we get ^^ I won't pre-order the album this time. If it's not great, I won't spend money on it. As simple as that

I will be patiently waiting *taps with fingers* Yes exactly they're all different. I do like MX, and all of the past albums as well, but I don't want the new one to be just like *any* of the other albums, no matter how good they are. I like it that they all have different styles.

Why jump to conclusions based on hearsay? Nobody knows for sure who is producing it..and this is Coldplay boys and girls, and also as far as I am concerned MX did not suck. Like the others have said this one I am sure will be different again. Lets all wait and see, and I am sure I will love it just as much as the rest of their albums.

MX did not suck for me either. I really do think that MX is more endearing to those that had a chance to see the live shows. It was very hard to attend those shows and think anything other than "Hell yeah!!!" (In the words of the lead singer of Wolfgang, "We all agreed it’s probably the best live show we’ve ever seen. It doesn’t matter what kind of music you’re into, it’s just an undeniable feast for the ears and eyes, a real jubilant euphoric celebration of epicness…")
And as others have said, I'm not sure Coldplay has a 'sound' because every album has been different from the other. They pull inspiration from all over the place and try to challenge themselves with each album, and I find that a lot more inspiring for an artist than the same album over and over. They really are 'damned if they do and damned if they don't.' If they put out one like Parachutes, people are jumping all over them for being the same. If they do something different, people jump on them for not 'sounding like Coldplay' (again, whatever that is.) I agree, let's wait and see, and I'm sure it will be in true Coldplay form and be creative and full of emotion and talent.

I'm never gonna say "ugh they really shouldn't have made an album like this it's so bland" or whatever, I admire them for changing their sound every 3 years
It's just that, for me, they haven't released an album that I keep listening to since Viva. I still listen to Parachutes, I still listen to AROBTTH, I still listen to Viva, sometimes I'm in an X&Y mood, but I actually never listen to MX or Ghost Stories anymore. I don't dislike those albums, but I can't relate to GS and MX, I don't know it's just 'naaah let's listen to AROBTTH instead'. And I've got this feeling AHFOD will be another album I won't keep listening to BUT that's just because of my taste.
Coldplay are an amazing band because they do soooo many different things and they're good at every genre!
I'm patiently waiting for the jazz album and the death metal song (just because I'm really curious to hear the latter, I don't even like death metal but imagine omg)

Ok to be clear I didnt hate MX but its last on my list of favourites, and yes it will always give me great memories of seeing them on the tour, I jumped as high as anyone when ETIAW came on, a great great night I know that whatever lp7 sounds like I will love it because its coldplay but knowing what they are capable of producing I always expect something stunning, infact despite its sad influences GS restored my faith Anyway I'm as impatient as the rest of you for some new music, hopefully interviews, tv appearances and most importantly seeing them live again

Just hearing the CD gives me a happy, excited, concert feeling.
