anyone else mad about the target thing? Im not a fan :/ I'm just glad we'll be getting additional songs! I'm not very happy either. Canada has Target but they said US only. |

What that sucks. But thanks. I guess I can ask a nice friend to ship me one! And I am SURE the tracks will emerge.. But that is a bit of a slap in the face for anyone not American.. which is about 75% of their audience. Hopefully they will change that!

The one thing I'm not bothered but rather surprised about is only 9 tracks on Ghost Stories. But obviously any new material from Coldplay is just as good as one. And if the rest of the album is as good as Midnight and Magic, then it will surely compensate.

They are long songs though.. Midnight is 5 mins plus.. I haven't timed Magic. Maybe there will be a 15 min song?

So I didn't have to wait until I woke up...  Midnight disappointed me, as I said. But Magic? The cheesy remark would be to say that it's, well, magic. But instead of being cheesy I will just say... WOW. It's incredible! It's not on the elite status of Clocks, Paradise, Atlas, and Moving to Mars, but still... I love the feeling of this song! Jonny is UNBELIEVABLE on this song and he sounds better than he EVER has. This is a very different Coldplay, to nobody's surprise. But this is even different than Midnight! I like this sound better... and I hope Ghost Stories will sound more like Magic and less like Midnight. |

It'll probably have longer tracks and MAYBE a 2 for 1 track like on Viva. Either way, any new material is good enough!

I love it as well. First two listens I wasn't sure, but after I let it settle in, checked out the artwork and new website, listening to it the third time finally got me. I really like the chill sound it has yet still retains that coldplay melancholic feel. I do think this album/era will be full of electronic sounds but thats not a bad thing. I do hope though that coldplay eventually return to an all acoustic era (those songs have the highest replay value for me and I feel are the most beautiful with the imperfections in the organic, natural sounds) but I'm excited for Ghost Stories! Just think, in 8 days we'll get to see them perform for the first time this era! I'm excited to see all the changes coming with their live performance!

lol... at the top of that amazon page it says cloud player but when I first saw it I thought it said coldplayer... too much coldplay on the brain I guess!

a very quick first impression as i rush to work......... i really like it but i can't help think it sounds a bit like Haim when i hear it. May just be Monday morning half asleep brain.
