Suppose Amazing Day is just a one off track for the Global Citizens fest, as is being rumored, would that make it the first Coldplay song since Moses to be played live with no proper recording (yet)?

Mmm dunno about that, they played most of the MX songs live before they recorded them? Or is that not what you meant?
(sorry it's early Monday morning LOL.. ).

Lol not exactly. We eventually got recordings of them, but say we go into the AHFOD era to find that Amazing Day was just a one off thing for the Global Citizen festival and get no studio version of it, that would make it the first Coldplay song since Moses to be played live only and have no proper recording of it. But now that I think of it, there were probably a few in the X&Y and Viva eras that slip my mind at the moment.

Listening to A Message, but the 2010 Hope For Haiti version. I absolutely love everything about it. Honestly, I'd love for them to make an album where they have simple yearning songs like A Message, Wedding Bells, and Christmas Lights. And instead of costumes, they'd wear what they wore for Hope for Haiti. Black pants, boots, beanies, short/long sleeves with birds on them. It'd be like a fall album. Oh how lovely that would be..

I was in the hairdresser today, and they played TWO Coldplay songs on the radio, Magic and ASFOS.. I was quite happy with that choice. THAT would be good Keaton.. an album of accoustic songs.. and I KNOW someone who would like the beanie.. Not to mention the boots..

Who would you be talking about? Oh Keaton, I so agree. SO AGREE. That whole Hope for Haiti scenario (the song, the way it's sung, the outfits, the hat, the boots, the bouncing, EVERYTHING) is out of this world! It's been an overly obsessive thing for me! I need to go watch it yet again!!!

I agree, we all know they can do an acoustic album, they would show up at KROQ Acoustic Christmas here in LA and actually only do acoustic while every other band was stumped and still plugged in. By the way, Chris looks amazing there.

He sure does. And I adore this version of A Message, it's one of my favourite songs, and I love how it's played here.

I was dreaming about places to visit on the next tour (posted in tour thread). While dreaming away, I hear a familiar song starting to play on the TV... Magic! What does this mean?! It's a sign, it must be a sign! LOL

Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’ is the best song to wake up to, according to science (and Spotify)It’s one of the few things that can get most of us out of bed in the morning – music. But what is the best jam to get you out of your jammies? Some go in for heavy metal to kick-start the day, while others prefer to ease into consciousness with some smooth jazz. However it turns out the best song to wake up to Coldplay’s anthemic Viva La Vida. That’s according to a study by Spotify, who have partnered up with music psychologist David M Greenberg to identify the best ‘wake up’ tunes. Their list was determined through a set of criteria of musical ingredients a song must have to get you out of bed. Such as… Music that builds: ‘A song that is too vigorous from the start won’t help you get out of bed – it’s too much too soon. Songs that start more gently (even just for a few seconds) and then build, help you wake up more gradually,’ the research determined. Positivity: ‘Once alert, you need to become motivated for the day to come; positive lyrics can get you out of a grumpy state and shift towards a feel-good attitude.’ Strong beat: ‘It’s not just the lyrics, it’s also the sonic elements of the music. Songs that emphasise beats 2 and 4 of each measure – usually with the bass and drums – with a BPM of approximately 100-130 will get you moving and further the feel good mood.’ Coldplay’s hit apparently fulfills all these requirements, which is why you should be hitting play on it each morning to help you face the world. Others in the 20 song ‘wake up’ playlist include Elevate by St Lucia, Money On My Mind by Sam Smith, and On Top Of The World by Imagine Dragons. Here’s the full playlist. You might notice that two songs on the list also have the words ‘wake’ and ‘up’ in their titles. ‘Waking up is hard. It’s a real struggle, sometimes even a battle, to shift from being tired and agitated to being alert and motivated,’ said Greenberg. ‘Science shows that music affects us in all types of ways, including emotionally, physiologically, and in the brain. The right music – like “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay with its positive energy and strong momentum – can help you wake up, get energized and tackle the rest of your day.’ x
