Don't know where to put this, but COLDPLAY won the Echo Award (German equivalent to the Brit Awards) as the Best Band Rock/Pop International for the album A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS!

They were not featured in the Echo Awards show (they didn't appear in the broadcast at all!) but recorded a video for the Echo Awards facebook page, saying thank you from Peru

By the way, Adele won an Echo Award for being the best international female act.
However, this was not shown on TV either, just like a few more categories were left out on tv. Maybe it is some kind of protest because these big artists never perform on stage or attend the award ceremony here? Anyway, I think it is a shame to exclude them from the final awards ceremony on tv.

Yeah but what is a show dedicated to successful music when it leaves out relevant artists (Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Dr. Dre, Adele)? I think the show completely loses its international aspect by this means. In contrast, they tried to get international acts to perform there. Among the performers were The Weeknd, Zara Larsson and James Bay, so it seems like the show is supposed to have an international touch

Ok, back to the Coldplay topic haha ^^ This Echo award is actually their 4th Echo award. They already got one in 2006, 2009 and in 2012.
