I've been considering building an ark today. The rain was so heavy. We went down to see my Dad in Hampshire, and aquaplaned down the A3. It was quite scary at times.

We have a really ridiculous situation here. The Netherlands is a really tiny country. It's around 300 kilometers from north to south. I live in the top of the south. At this moment I work in the middle of the country, a place called Utrecht.
Where I live and where I work, it's drooley and chilley, but not really cold. But at the north it's cold, freezing. People can go ice skating on the streets. Schools are closed and people are adviced to stay at home. And that when you think it's only a max of 100 km away.... For such a tiny country this difference is huge!!

Raining very hard here. Hope it stops before I drive home! Californians do not know how to drive in the rain.

believe it or not, nor do English people. Seriously you would think we would by now. But I always seem to get either a lunatic driving too fast, or a person driving like they have never seen the road before in front of me..

We went from warmest December ever straight to coldest January, well not ever, but almost. Feels like survival training to walk to the nearest bus stop. Strangely enough I don't mind but I don't have to work outdoors and I have a warm home.

Oh that sounds chilly Carina.
Today we have had warmish with torrential rain, followed by sunshine and COLD.. And a nasty chilly wind.
I bought a new coat today.. believe it or not, the shops have STOPPED selling winter coats! They were all in the sale, well good cos I got a bargain, but it's JANUARY! It's not spring yet! I want a new coat IN January?? is that too much to ask for?

We've done the same... Unseasonably warm to cold back to warm, back to cold. And there were bathing suits in the mall last weekend. ??

Our weather is nuts. There are daffodils growing. And the amount of rain coming down recently is ridiculous. I had a plant I had for years and years, someone gave it to me when I left work to have my son, that's how old it is, and it goes outdoors in the summer and comes indoors over the winter. I left it out too late this year, and the ONE day we had a frost this winter seems to have killed it. :(
