OK this is still my favourite song on the album so far. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the piano and guitar plucky sounds, they are amazing.
I can imagine it live and imagine everyone singing along to the Chorus. "When I'm cold.. Cooolllld..." It gives me tingles. Coldplay at their absolute superb classicly best.

Gave it a 6 stars rating here (amazing) and I rarely do that...

This song is for me a bit of the same category like The Scientist and Fix You. There is a nice vibe coming from this song. Relaxing... I think it is live better than recorded.

A little too radio friendly for me. I don't hear G on it and that's a good thing.

I think it's beautiful, and I like it the best because it is one of those piano/guitar songs that I was hoping would be on the album.

Exactly! Although I am not a big fan of the production (you cannot have many layers of instruments at the same volume or it will start sounding muddy - ok you can but you shouldn't ), I am glad that they have found their instruments again

The song immediately won me over when first listening to it. The lyrics are just beautiful and so moving. And the melody is beautiful, too -- it's catchy and I like the calm, soothing tone.

From Coldplay's twitter: In text from their site: oh they say people come, say people go this particular diamond was extra special and though you might be gone, and the world may not know still I see you, celestial
like a lion you ran, a goddess you rolled like an eagle you circled, in perfect purple so how come things move on, how come cars don’t slow when it feels like the end of my world when I should but I can’t let you go?
but when I’m cold, cold oh when I’m cold, cold there’s a light that you give me when I’m in shadow there’s a feeling you give me, an everglow
like brothers in blood, sisters who ride and we swore on that night we’d be friends til we die but the changing of winds, and the way waters flow life as short as the falling of snow and now I’m gonna miss you I know
but when I’m cold, cold in water rolled, salt I know that you’re with me and the way you will show and you’re with me wherever I go and you give me this feeling this everglow
oh- I I I I what I wouldn’t give for just a moment to hold yeah I live for this feeling this everglow
so if you love someone, you should let them know oh the light that you left me will everglow

OK stupid question...what exactly are the two lines from Gwyneth? I only hear her singing "ooooh" in the background. That's her singing the "ooooh's" right? Are there two other lines that she sang backup on that I'm not hearing? Or is it just the two lines that Chris took from the conversation about her dad when he wrote the song? I guess that's MORE than one stupid question LOL. Anyway... explain Gwyneth's part in the song to me please.

She sings, "how come things move on, how cars don't slow". Cathy that line is actually sung by Will doing backing vocals.

Is there something wrong with my ears? Did I get some special ( ) misprinted copy of the CD where she does not sing? I really don't hear her there. Hmmmmm.

No there's nothing wrong with your ears Leann. If anything, they're probably picking up on something special the rest of us cannot.
