Isn't he lovely? I get a bit annoyed when people complain incessantly about set lists. I know I threw a fit when they removed Politik from MX Tour setlist but by the time my concert came around, I had forgotten all about it. These guys are born performers and even the silly things Chris does on the side for Charity still make me extremely happy, even when the video quality is so bad |

100% agree. OK, I may be a bit silly to even attempt this. BUT. My husband tells me one of the ladies in his cast, for the play he is doing has told him she 'Hates' Chris. Apparently she said something along the lines of 'I could like Coldplay, if it wasn't for Chris Martin'. Of course I asked him to elaborate.. WHY doesn't she like him? What on earth made her so anti? But he didn't know. He didn't ask.. SO.. the play is this weekend. I will probably end up going along to the cast after party.. and I fully intend to make a beeline for this woman and quiz her. I need to know.. I need to make her see the error of her ways. But... Is this silly thing to do? Will I end up seeming stupidly reactive, over-protective and ridiculous? Or should I just go for it? Answers on a post card, and any ammunition that I can use to back up my case, please let me know! HOW, does someone hate Chris? What has he personally done to her? These are questions I need answered because I am completely stumped, and a little bit pissed off.. She needs putting straight.. right? Particularly if she could actually like the music but is 'put off' by someone who is so wonderful.. Alright.. I know its stupid.. but I get VERY protective.  |

Probably she just DON'T KNOW our man! If she really wanted to know about him, she would have Googled Chris out, and she would know he is sweet, gorgeous etc.
But she doesn't, and I think she don't care. Maybe she is jealous, or traumatised or whatever and therefor she is putting labels on others as "I hate him".
I would not spend time or energy on her, trying to convince her she is wrong. It is no use. Again, if she is having an open mind, she would not think like that in the first place. Not about our Mr martin and not about other people in general.
OK, this was my rational mind speaking.
My emotional side would confront her and ask about her motivations LOL

Isn't it just absurd? People have this view of him, "oh, he's stuck up, he's self absorbed, he's whiney." None of it true. He is so likable (to us), he's funny, he's handsome, he's self depracating. I think it's the Gwyneth thing that makes people think he's awful. Just strike up a casual conversation with this lady and then drop it in casually if you can.

Well, I think that's the point. If you google Chris, you still don't get a proper image of him. A few weeks ago if you googled him you got the following things in just one page:
* Chris is dating JLaw
* Chris is dating Alexa Chung
* Chris and JLaw split up
* Gwyneth had a breakdown because she wants Chris back
Not quite a good image for this beautiful guy. Makes you think he is a player...
If the only source you got are the tabloids, you will never get a proper image of him. We know there is more to it and what we can 'believe'. But a lot of people don't know it...
And Row, if it makes you feel better: go for it!

and the tabloids always make him look like a self-absorbed, moody, whiney, geeky, no personality guy. and they made that stereotype stick. and after the break up, some people have actually started to give him credit on certain things. but i feel like it has more to do with gwyneth than chris. it's a messed up made up world the tabloids create.

Yeah you are probably right. Thanks girls. It's not really worth the effort. HOWEVER, if I get the opportunity, I will give it a try, what harm can it do? I might just win her over.. If not, she is a lost cause and not worth my time. I will let you know how I get on anyway.  But you're all right the tabloids are not a good source of information! The reason we know him as a beautiful human being is because we have taken the time to find out, to watch videos, to read interviews.. some of us have been lucky enough to meet him and see first hand how humble and lovely he is. But if you merely read the papers, or the gossip columns then it's bound to give you a warped view. It makes me think about 'other' celebs, all we know of them are what we read in the press, or see online. We don't have a clue what they are really like. We might see a newspaper that says for instance; "Noel Gallagher 'bad mouths' Chris". So we get irate because we think what a shithead.. but what we should really do is say.. OK the papers are being stupid AGAIN. Because if they get what Chris says wrong 99% of the time, then we shouldn't believe them with anyone. Crazy world we live in. I am personally REALLY grateful not to be a celebrity! |

Go for it! Corner her! Back her into a wall, put on the most menacing voice you have and ask her, "So I hear you hate Chris....why ? And you better make it good." Maybe keep balling your fist and punching it into your other hand. This insane, incorrect and ludicrous way of thinking must stop! And the first person we start to change will he this lady in England. Watch out, ignorant idiots of the world, you might be next..... Defensive, protective Sharon is on the prowl.   |

Maybe be casual about it, start a conversation with her and say something like, "Have you heard that new Christmas song they recorded this year for help fighting Ebola? Yeah my favorite singer was in there, he does nice things like that for charity all the time." Who? Chris Martin. Oh really? What else has he done.... There ya go!
