Chris Martin now has a venue to showcase his talented kids ... a 99-seat theater he just bought for more than FOUR MILLION BUCKS!!

The Coldplay frontman plunked down $4.45 million for the Malibu Playhouse ... currently home to the Malibu Stage Company. In its previous life, the theater was once a church, and later a recording studio.

The venue sits on 6.5 acres and it's got an incredible ocean-view deck. It also features sweeping canyon views. It's unclear what Chris will do with the venue, but maybe one day he'll feature his daughter Apple and son Moses. Those kids got talent!!

Shen Schulz from Sotheby's was the listing agent and Lily Harfouche from Coldwell Banker repped Chris. We reached out to them to see what Chris had planned for the theater, but no word back.

He recently dropped a cool $4million for a community theater in Malibu.

And it looked like Chris Martin was reveling in the local sport as he caught a few waves near the Point Dume area of the beach community.

The 41-year-old musician looked completely at ease in the ocean as he glided across the water on top of a short white surfboard.

Chris made sure to stay warm in the 60 degree waters wearing a full, 3/4 length black wetsuit.

In addition to his long-sleeved number, Martin donned a pair of black booties to better grip the board and protect his feet against any sharp rocks or reefs.

His neoprene suit featured panels across his chest and thighs, and he wrapped a velcro leash around his right foot.

The Coldplay frontman seemed to know his way around the breaks and even managed to catch a few shoulder-high waves.

Chris has been a part of the Malibu community for years and recently invested back into the local arts with the purchase of the Malibu Playhouse.

Martin dropped a cool $4.45million for the 99-seat theater which sits atop 6.5 acres of prime real estate in the beach town.

The property was listed by Shen Schulz of Sotheby's International Realty and Martin was reportedly represented by Lily Harfouche of Coldwell Banker Malibu West.

Not only is the Malibu Playhouse home to two acting troupes - the Young Actors Project and the Once Upon a Time Children's Theater - the space also hosts comedy nights, camps, classes and singer showcases.

Martin is known for contributing to various communities and reportedly gives away 10 percent of his earnings each year to 28 different charitable causes.

While Chris has recently been linked to Dakota Johnson, ee was previously married to Gwyneth Paltrow and the couple co-parent their two children, Apple, 14, and Moses, 12.
