Prince Harry hugs pal Chris Martin as he joins Coldplay on stage for surprise group performance11:09, 29 JUN 2016 UPDATED 12:11, 29 JUN 2016 BY JOSHUA HAIGH Prince Harry joined Coldplay on stage at a gig last night - and even joined in with their performance. The band, who headlined Glastonbury over the weekend, performed at gig in support of the Royal's Lesotho charity on Tuesday. Harry and Chris put on a chummy display as they shook hands and hugged during the Brit band's set. That wasn't enough for the 31-year-old prince however, who later joined in with the band's performance. Before he gave his all on stage, Harry told the crowd: "Thank you for standing out in the rain, thank you to the choir that has come all the way from Lesotho." "And thank you to Coldplay - thank you so much, you've rocked the palace, you've rocked the palace," he added. The hunky royal then stuck around and joined in with Chris and the children's choir for a rousing performance of Up & Up. As the evening came to a close, Harry, who decided to set up the charity after visiting Lesotho at the age of 19, urged the audience to learn more about the fight against HIV in poorer countries. He said: "What I saw were some of the world's most vulnerable young people, robbed of their childhoods - forced into work due to extreme poverty and the loss of ONE OR BOTH parents to the devastating HIV/AIDS epidemic." "If you have been moved by the stories that you've heard, please commit to taking a little bit of time to learn about the fight against HIV in places like Lesotho, throughout Africa, and here in the UK as well," he added. Other performers on the star-studded evening included Royal favourite Joss Stone, Laura Mvula and soprano singer Alicia Lowes. Last November, Harry opened the charity’s new flagship Mamohato Centre where the dining hall is named after Princess Diana. The 3,000 tickets for last night's gig sold-out in less than an hour in May, with the money raised going towards helping the children's centre run Saturday clubs and weeklong camps. In the next few weeks he will meet with patients, medical staff and leading figures in the sector in the UK and will also travel to Durban, South Africa to speak at the 2016 International AIDS Conference in July. link
