Yes, a true fan! I cannot believe she won a concert at 9 months pregnant and left for the beach house two days after coming home from the hospital after giving birth! Amazing. Here's the article associated with the winner.
Fitchburg woman wins private concert by Coldplay frontmanBy Anna Burgess
UPDATED: 08/02/2016 08:19:53 AM EDTFITCHBURG -- Johanna Bozicas and her family just returned from a sandy, star-studded, surreal week at the beach.
Bozicas, a teacher who lives in Fitchburg, was lucky enough to win a free vacation to the Bourne beach house owned by local radio station Mix 104.1. The station chooses two winners annually, and included in the prize is a VIP concert for the winner, her family and 20 friends.
This summer, the artist performing was Chris Martin, the frontman of British pop band Coldplay.
Bozicas has been a Coldplay fan for almost 15 years, and her son, Alexander, grew up listening to the band with his mother.
Getting to see a private performance by Martin with her family was "amazing -- I can't even describe it," she said.
Bozicas said she often calls in to radio stations for free giveaways, and has won tickets and meet-and-greet opportunities before, "but nothing like this, ever."
She brought her husband and son with her to stay for the week, along with her mother, aunt and brother.
Their youngest guest was Bozicas' daughter Sienna, who was less than a week old when she was serenaded by Martin.
"When I got the phone call that I won, I was nine months pregnant," Bozicas said. "I was due on July 23, and that's the day you're supposed to go to the beach house. I was super-excited but nervous, because I won this amazing prize but thought I might not even be able to go."
As it turned out, Bozicas gave birth to Sienna on July 18, and the family left for the beach house two days after returning home from the hospital.
She said the house was "just amazing," with beautiful views right on the beach.
During the concert, neighbors and people boating past the house stopped to watch Martin perform.
Including radio-station employees and other contest winners and their families, Bozicas said there were about 100 people in the audience.
She, however, got the best seat, right next to Martin as he sang. She even got to request a song, and chose the 2000 hit "Yellow," which Martin dedicated to Sienna.
Baby Sienna may not appreciate it now, but as a teenage girl, she'll be very glad her mother won this amazing experience -- and glad her mother's friends all took videos of it.
