I think it was more prevalent a few decades ago, as in "Don't have a conniption!"

Just saw an advert on television about the album! bouncing around the house I know the feeling. Usually when I open a youtube link and there's a commercial playing before the video I want, I can't wait to count the seconds down until I click to dismiss it. But now that it's GS ads, I watch it from start to finish. It's such a welcome surprise when it pops up.

HAHA.. I know it's great when you see them 'Out there'. Whenever I hear a Coldplay song in a shop or something I have to stop and listen. No matter what. No matter that I have all the songs.. I still need to stop and appreciate and listen. It gives me a little thrill. All the kids working as cashiers at my local supermarket know what I'm listening to when I get to the counter to pay for my groceries. I don't think they even know my name, but they know I listen to Coldplay. They hear about it all, concerts, new albums, etc. They must think I'm a crazy old lady.

Coldplay's 'Ghost Stories' Starts at No. 1 With Biggest Debut of 2014 By Keith Caulfield, L.A. | May 28, 2014 11:00 AM EDT Coldplay crashes in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with "Ghost Stories," collecting its fourth No. 1 album and the biggest sales week of the year. "Ghost Stories" sold 383,000 copies in the week ending May 25, according to Nielsen SoundScan, easily notching the biggest sales frame of 2014. That bow trumps the previous largest week of 2014, when Eric Church's "The Outsiders" sold 288,000 in the week ending Feb. 16. Black Keys, Coldplay Rock Albums/Songs Charts Coldplay's start is also the largest week for any album since Beyonce's self-titled album started with 617,000 in the week ending Dec. 15 (as an iTunes-exclusive). "Ghost Stories" was released on Monday, May 19, and is the fourth straight No. 1 studio effort for Coldplay. It follows 2011's "Mylo Xyloto," which entered atop the list with 447,000. The group previously hit No. 1 with 2008's "Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends" (721,000 debut) and 2005's "X&Y" (737,000). Coldplay's new album was powered strongly by downloads, as the digital version of the album sold 245,000 -- 64 percent of its first week. That's the largest digital sales week for a widely-available album (thus barring Beyonce's iTunes-only debut) since One Direction's "Midnight Memories" debuted with 275,000 downloads in the week ending Dec. 1, 2013. www.billboard.com/articles/news/6099382/coldplay-ghost-stories-billboard-200-albums-chart-brantley-gilbert-no-1

Coldplay Nabs Second Week at Billboard 200's No. 1, Mariah Carey Comes at No. 3 June 05, 2014 02:06:45 GMT Coldplay's "Ghost Stories" is spending its second week at No. 1 on Billboard 200. The album, which landed at the chart's top slot last week with this year's biggest sales week, has sold another 83,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The record has so far sold a total of 466,000 copies, making it the sixth-largest-selling album of 2014. The soundtrack of Disney's "Frozen (2013)" is still the biggest-selling album of the year with 2.5 million. Also holding its position steady is last week's runner-up, Brantley Gilbert's "Just as I Am". The country singer's third studio album stays at No. 2 with 65,000. Next, Mariah Carey has her long-delayed album "Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse" landed at No. 3 with 58,000. That is Carey's lowest opening sales for a non-holiday album since SoundScan began powering Billboard 200 in 1991. Behind "The Elusive Chanteuse" is "Frozen" soundtrack. The set, which ruled the chart for 13 non-consecutive weeks earlier this year, stays at No. 4 with just over 58,000. Closing out the top 5 is Austin Mahone's debut EP, "The Secret", that opens with 46,000. The "Now 50" compilation album remains at No. 6 with 41,000. It's followed by Michael Jackson's "Xscape" which slides from No. 3 to No. 7 with 35,000. The Black Keys' "Turn Blue" falls three rungs to No. 8 with 32,000. Crowder's "Neon Steeple" becomes the last record to debut in the top 10. It arrives at No. 9 with 22,000. Iggy Azalea's "The New Classic" slips to No. 10 from last week's No. 9 with 18,000. The Australian raptress, meanwhile, is ruling the Billboard 100 as her Charli XCX-assisted hit single "Fancy" remains atop the chart after selling 283,000 downloads.
