She did indeed have a GREAT time!
My seats were awesome, the band was out of this world, and Chris Martin is a God.
It took us about 3.5 hours to get up there and about 4.5 hours back due to a couple of traffic jams due to accidents on the interstate, plus picking up our dog from the kennel. I know all of you are dying to know ALL of the burning details, ha!
We were two seats from the ramp, midway on Jonny's side, and for the states where bots suck up seats immediately and the rest of us dedicated and true fans then have to go on a frazzled hunt to find good seats and pay out of our butts for them, I was so happy to have those. It paid off, though. Chris did notice us, and the guy walking around filming stopped on three separate occasions and filmed directly onto me/us. He even stood up on something on the other side of the barrier to come down right over our heads. I have no idea what it was for or even it will make it into anything, but it was fun nonetheless!
One time was very funny, though, because it was when I was getting ready to jump during Viva, as you do of course, I instinctively reached down, like I usually do, to keep my shirt down and to help "the girls" not kill me when I jumped too much (sorry, guys, but these are the sad facts of life!), and he was filming. I mean, not embarrassing at all...
I had everyone around me on a mission to get me a balloon, but no such luck. One came out of nowhere and hit my husband on the back of the head, but by the time we all realized what it was, it had been hit somewhere else. Drat. Oh well, something to keep shooting for!
But I am never disappointed when I go to a show. They always care so much about the fans and are so humble and appreciative, and they make sure you get every penny's worth out of your experience. I just love them so much.
On to Chicago!

Sharon, where/how did you end up getting those awesome tickets?

After being frustrated with Ticketmaster on so many occasions, honestly, the past few times, I started with stub hub and paid more. You can find people who won't rob you blind. I have bought tickets in a rush just to have some then found better ones later putting me in a position of having to sell the first ones (at face value of course) or giving them away like in Philly. I know not everyone can do this. We were lucky to have a long tour this time, but this doesn't happen but every few/several years, so I feel it's worth it on a personal level.
This time, it was stub hub, I lucked out and didn't pay a fortune!

Oh, and Sue, the security was pretty tight in D.C. as well. They didn't allow you to step out of or dance out of your row, and they were strict with holding up signs too.
A girl two rows behind me tried holding up a sign that said, "Green Eyes is my #1 Favorite" and she was told repeatedly to put it down. She was pretty lit and kept saying, "sorry, sorry" to security, but the second they left, she'd hold it up again. I thought for sure they were going to haul her out of there after awhile because I heard security tell her that was her last warning.
Evidently, the guy walking the ramp filming saw this and walked up to her and filmed her with her sign. And she held it up again just as Chris walked by, and we saw him read it.
The next thing we know, at the end of the C stage set, the other guys left and Chris stayed and did an acoustic Green Eyes. I'm not sure if was planned or he did it because he saw the sign. Regardless, she was so drunk that she barely recognized that it was Green Eyes. We made eye contact, and I pointed back to them and said, "Listen" and then she screamed, "Oh, is that Green Eyes?!"
Another example of how they care about their fans if he stayed behind to do that for her.

Oh, I keep remembering things, haha!
When we got to the hotel, the hub went in to get the keys, etc. while we gathered stuff from the car. He told us as we rode up in the elevator that the girl at the front counter asked if we were there for the concert. She said she worked for Aluna George and that she had so many things to get done before that night. I was like, "What? Hit the bottom floor again! We need to get back down there and see if she has any pull!" LOL! We didn't go back down then, but when we headed down later, the hub saw her printing some things, and he said it looked like a set list. I don't know how she works for her, but that's what she said. I was ready to pour on the charm, limp, do whatever it took to get some sympathy from her to get us backstage, haha! (Just let me dream.)
The confetti in the car, in the bathroom, down the hallways of the hotel, in the lobby, outside, was hilarious. There were evidently many of us that attended heaven in concert that night.

Just a quick update from my first ever Coldplay concert! I have no adequate words to describe it, and I'm an English teacher so that's saying something! We had great seats! I almost cried when I saw how much better they were in reality versus what I assumed from looking at the seating chart on Ticketmaster. We were in the first row of B2 right at the end of the runway) and about 10 seats over from the round stage. Being in the front row of that section, we had lots of room to move and dance. Security was lax for a few minutes the first time Chris came to C stage, but eventually they ran everyone back to their seats. Seeing them in person was a dream come true, and one that I had built up for so long that I was almost nervous all day on Sunday day due to lingering fear that it wouldn't live up to expectations. When the guys took the stage, the electricity started and didn't let up for two solid hours. I was tired and happy at the end of the evening. I went back to my hotel room and proceeded to watch and re-watch the short video clips I took. I didn't take many; I wanted to enjoy the show and watch it with my eyes and not through the lens of my phone camera. I was so excited to hear Green Eyes! I happen to have green eyes and it's one of my favorites. What a thrill. I got such a chuckle out of Will's expression when they started Trouble on C stage. It was almost like he forgot how to play it. The whole evening was perfect. Our hotel had a bus providing transportation to and from Fedex Field. We got on the bus and were at the stadium by 5:30 and we were back at our hotel before midnight. Didn't have to sit through the traffic nightmare like others did. The opening acts were wonderful. The people we were sitting by were wonderful. It was magic. Truly.

Awesome! So glad you had a great time. There really isn't anything like a Coldplay show. And a bus to drop you off, double cool!
