Coldplay donate £2,000 to Save The Children loom-band challenge By Western Daily Press | Posted: August 13, 2014 Three West Country children who are raising money for children in war-torn Gaza by making one continuous loom band have received a donation from world-famous music band Coldplay fronted by West Country man Chris Martin. Issy, nine, Henry, seven and five-year-old Rudy Ford, of Rodden Road, Frome, have spent several weeks making the loom band from small elastic bands and have raised nearly £3,000 for Save the Children. Their very proud parents, Suse and Michael Ford, were very surprised and delighted to receive a message from the band on the children’s Justgiving.com page with a donation of £2,000. The message said: “Well done for this great idea, Love Coldplay.” Mrs Ford said: “I can confirm that the donation has come from Coldplay and their support will no doubt give the chidren’s fundraising a big boost. “This is all about the children naturally wanting to help other children whom they can see are in need. There is no political or religious motivation etched and they truly decided to do this amazing thing all by themselves.” The current running total stands at £2,910 and the family hope to reach the £3,000 mark and 24ft loom band target by Sunday, August 31.
