Does anyone know if this venue allows floor ticket holders to stand alongside the stage?
I'm trying to decide what time I need to get to the stadium!

I imagine, like all American shows, that you get allocated seats. They don't do the standing thing over there as far as I am aware. IF you have a seat close to the stage of course then absolutely stand up, in fact never sit down at a gig! (some of you know my feelings on this LOL!) But as far as getting to the venue early, I wouldn't bother. You will get your seat regardless. Unless someone else knows different and they have changed they way they do things since last year? Also WELCOME to the forum Valkyrie, I hope you stick around and join in our fun and chats.

It's assigned seating on the floor in D.C. I don't think it's actually outlawed in the U.S., but most venues don't use festival seating after a stampede at a Who concert in the 70's killed several fans. Grab some tickets, and welcome!!

I am BEYOND excited for my first show this Sunday. I bought these tickets in October and I can't believe it's almost here! Quick question: what time do you all recommend I get to the stadium and get in the line to enter? I don't even know what time they open the gates.
I don't want to feel rushed at all but I also don't want to have hours with nothing to do. :-)

Hey valkyrie! Since all seats are assigned, you wouldn't have to worry about getting there very early to stand in line to try to get up front. Transportation in and out and/or parking are another issue, and an issue with all stadiums, and I'm working on those right now. Make sure you allow enough time for that. The way it happened in NYC a couple of days ago: The doors opened at 5:30. The support acts came on around 6:45 and then CP hit the stage at 8:45. There's no guarantee that it will happen this way, but CP always puts out a tweet the day before or the morning of a concert to give you that exact info, so check in with their twitter acct. for that info. People filter in, and a lot won't even show up until it's time for CP to hit the stage. I always end up with a ton of time, but it's fun to walk around, take in the atmosphere and maybe even hit the merchandise stands before the show instead of after. (Side note story: Someone purposefully walked off with my merch bag last year at the NYC show! I was utterly disappointed, but on the way out, we stopped at a shaved ice cart, and the people happened to be right there. Row said, "Aren't those your sunglasses?", which I had put inside the bag as well. They played it off as 'oops, we just saw it and couldn't find who it belonged to', but it was literally right under my chair, and no one asked us if it was ours. Sorry, I digress!) I usually plan on getting there by the time the support acts go on, and that way, it gives me around an hour and 45 minutes to eat if I have to, grab a drink, hit the bathroom, buy some stuff, watch the acts, etc. If you want to see the support acts, I'd get to the stadium around 6:00-6:15 to give you a bit of time. But again, check with their twitter linked above for more definite info! I'm so glad you are going to a show, and you will not be disappointed!! Get ready for the best concert of your life.

Thank you so much for your reply! I am also trying to figure out the transportation options. I don't get the sense that getting to and from the stadium is a fun experience. Our hotel is only a mile away, so I'm seriously considering hoofing it both ways! It's not supposed to be too hot (thank goodness) on Sunday. My husband is worried about our safety on the walk back, but from what I read, the parking lots are nightmares at Fedex Field!
I will check Twitter and see what I can find out. I'd like to check out the merch stand for sure. I can't believe someone took your bag--but how unlikely and wonderful that you were able to get it back!
I want to take the whole thing in--what if I never get this opportunity again!?
Kittybitty, I will be sure to let you all know how it goes. I feel like a tween going to her first Bieber concert. Haha!

If it's safe at all to walk, then walk. It's quite an ordeal just to get out of the stadium no matter where you see Coldplay!

Stadiums are nightmares everywhere it seems. I thought I'd hurt someone getting back to NYC after the show at MetLife. I'll also be going to Chicago on the 17th of this month, and we are walking to and from our hotel, a little less than a mile away. I had the same thought about safety after the show, but we called the hotel, and they said it was a safe path back. Call your hotel and get their opinion on the walk. If it's safe, I'd take the walk.
And yes, with all the people at MetLife, it was wild that we just happened upon the same shaved ice cart that the people that took my bag were standing near. And it was Row's great observing that saw my sunglasses inside the clear bag. Their story was lame, and nobody believed it, but I got my bag back, so score.
