Burna Boy and Chris Martin called attention to police brutality and racial profiling during a powerful performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards, specifically dedicating their act to the victims of SARS, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad that has senselessly taken the lives of innocent Nigerians. Against a screen displaying historic civil rights marches in the US and the protests in Nigeria, the two delivered a chilling rendition of "Monsters You Made" on Tuesday night. The track, which was released in August, somberly highlights the systemic racism and colonial oppression that impact the Black community. Following the end of the poignant act, the background performers, who wore shirts that read "Stop Police Brutality," joined Burna Boy in raising their fists in solidarity. "This is for Tiamiyu Kazeem. This is for Kolade Johnson," the artist said, referring to innocent Nigerians who were killed at the hands of police brutality. "This is for everyone that has lost their lives at the hands of SARS and all kinds of police brutality. End police brutality now and end profiling." link
