I doubt that they will. They waited from 9 years in between the last two.
They showed that they wouldn't release a DVD unless they were 100% happy with it by filming one during the VLV tour and never letting it surface.
I'd say that it's a safe bet to wait until LP8 for another live offering.

I don't think so either. I still wish we'd had Viva live, but them's the breaks. I adored everything about the Viva tour.

I wish we did too. I sadly didn't get to see that tour and would give my eye teeth, (whatever they are ) to see some really high res live videos of the tour.

I don't think there will be a live dvd for the next tour...Of course it would be great but I think they don't want to do that too often in order to make their DVD's special! And MX was really a spectacular tour, I doubt it would make sense to do another Live DVD so soon. But who knows

They won't. The MX era was all about the live performances, really. I feel this era will be more Viva-esque.

I doubt they will but who knows. A Viva dvd would've been great, sweet memories.
What about live downloads? If they sold good quality live recordings from each show? Like some bands do *cough* Red Hot Chili Peppers *cough*
Perhaps not so interesting if they play the same setlist with only few variations?

I've never heard of this before but I would definately pay like 50 bucks to get a high res copy of the exact show I was at. Not only would it bring all the memories back, but I could show my friends and family what I experienced and where I was in the audience. I'm sure im not the only one who would love to buy one Anyone else think this is a good idea?

I've only seen audio downloads tho, maybe video would be too much work. edit: link to RHCP downloads store www.livechilipeppers.com/they sell mp3 for $9.95, FLAC and ALAC for $12.95

I don't think it would be too much work. During their last tour, coldplay recorded alot of their shows and im sure they would make money from it. You would just buy a card at the gift shop with a code on it. And after the video has been processed and stuff, you could simply go to their site, put in the code, and download the video. Coldplay does new things for their tours and I think this is a great idea

Remember where you heard it first
Metallica does this too. Once they cancelled a concert here in Stockholm and gave away a free download to everyone who came to the rescheduled concert, nice gesture.
