Earlier, I compared Magic to Yellow. Now I think Always in my Head is a mature version of Shiver. It seems to me like a seduction song, but the narrator is older and wiser and knows his stuff, basically. The vocals combined with the lovely sound of the song indicate something softer and sexier than Shiver, which is a song about declaring your love to someone who doesn't necessarily want it.
Of course, it doesn't hurt that Chris was singing it in shadow, while wearing a tight white t shirt and cupping the microphone with his hands! Sexy!

I think it's safe to say now that AIMH is my favorite song since the Viva era. <3

Just a thought: What if this song is about losing a loved one?
I think of you I haven't slept I think I do But I don't forget
He can't stop thinking about the person, and he tries to sleep, but he can't because he can't forget about this person
My body moves Goes where I will But though I try my heart stays still
He lives his life, but his heart is stuck on the loss
It never moves Just won't be let So my mouth waters to be fed
...and if I assume this person was his significant other, he wants to be loved but he's lost the only person who can love him
And you're always in my head You're always in my head You're always in my head You're always in my head
You're always in my head Always in my... You're always in my...
This I guess is to tell you you're chosen out from the rest
I guess this idea could fit in with the ghost stories idea... Anyway just a theory

This is a brilliant song that just keeps growing and growing with each listen. It has a Warning Sign meets Don't Panic vibe to it only with added ambience. Contrary to what others think with their big bombastic stadium anthems, it is songs like these that Coldplay do best. They tried to do it on the last album with Us Against The World and UFO but those songs came off extremely hollow to me (indeed it is ages since I listened to them - that is how much they bore me) which made me worry that they had lost their touch to create cute, little pieces of craft work like this. I'm glad I was wrong.

UFO and UATW seemed really forced, indeed.

UATW is one of my favourite songs (ever) and I personally don't think it was rushed, or a filler. I guess everyone is different though.
However I DO really REALLY adore the new songs and AIMH is amazing.
For me MX had a few amazing songs and one or two not so, and so far ALL of GS has amazing songs!

I feel like Always In My Head into Shiver would work really well live.m
The rhythm at the end of the song is very similar to the rhythm of the strum at the beginning of Shiver.

Always in my Head is a Classic already. I love it. And I am looking out for the video. Or some interviews.

I can't wait for the interviews! Longing to find out their motives, and ideas, also just having them back, promoting! Exciting!

I just don't want this to be a love album. I'm ok with a few songs but so far 3 out of 4 are love songs.
