Still not sold on this song. Its a bit redundant...... well actually its REALLY redundant from the way its sung to the instrumental. the vocal in particular reminds me a lot of x & y era songs. Sure he's singing his heart out but the notes he's hitting don't really resonate. It's just overly passionate, which is kinda the point,I know, but it just doesn't click with me. Hopefully it'll grow.

The melody is extremely good. So is Chris's voice and Jonny's riff of course and its all ruined by the fact that its EDM. Why not do it how they've always done with Will on the drums. I hope people don't see this as the new Coldplay.
No worries though the rest of the album is superb. This is the only song I may skip.

Ok I listened once. A lot of Avicii, I like it. Really looking forward to hearing it in context, the whole album.
Do you think we'll ever get an acoustic version? There is that fan made piano cover out there. I wouldn't mind an acoustic.

When did Coldplay become an EDM band? Seriously hoping that Ghost Stories is more like Magic and Midnight and not this.

I like the song. I think this will definitly be a big hit. Although I like the song, I think I prefer songs like Oceans and O.

Voted excellent. I love it. I love it. I love it and I can't stop listening to it. But we all know that I love Pop music like Katy Lerry and Beyoncé so this isn't a surprise LOL. But as someone who listen to Pop music, I can tell you that this song is perfect for what it is. 10/10. They did what they wanted, it's a perfect blend of Coldplay and EDM. When I first heard Midnight, I said that Coldplay was being shy and they could've made it a big EDM song (thankfully, Tiesto and Girogo Moroder made great EDM remixes) This song is HUGE and it shows their versatility. I understand this isn't your typical Coldplay song but don't judge the entire album based on one song, remember O, Always In My Head and Oceans. From now on, Coldplay will always have a couple of Pop songs on their albums. I think that's a given and it's just part of who they are.

Just seen it on Jools Holland, it is GREAT live. So much energy as others have said. It's going to be a mega gig closer I think!

It's freakin' fantastic that CP has different types of songs on their albums. I will admit that while I like it a lot (it's infectious and energetic), it's not quite up there just yet with the other songs I've heard, BUT I do completely believe that it belongs on the album. I think it will light my fire more when I hear it live, but to say it doesn't belong is off kilter for me. The fact, for me, is that Chris wrote it with a very deep feeling of triumph for him. It's apparently not just a song written to be written, it means something to him on that level, so it most definitely belongs and makes it mean something to me. I hope to see Jools Holland very soon and hear what it sounds like live.

I absolutely love it. I'm a fan of EDM, Trance and other electronic stuff, so hearing something like this coming from one my most favorite bands of all time is like a dream come true. And I can't decide which of Jonny's riffs is better, the one on the official track or the instrumental.
