This is the important thing. Here we just need our Chris happy and if this is what does that, then I'll accept it.

I don't know how true this is. after all it is fox news. but this could be the case i think. A source connected to Martin said he already determined – long before the official break-up announcement – that he would not be doing any press to promote the new release, which slated to hit shelves and the digital market on May 19.
We’re also told that Martin considers this latest musical offering to be the “most personal” to date, perhaps inspired in large part by his marriage troubles. The first single, “Magic” which debuts this month seems to point to the notion of a split.link

It is very sad to read this announcement. Gwyneth & Chris are wise adults, and I am confident they tried and tried, but this was probably their only way out... Sometimes it is just the better thing to do allthough it is hurting so much.
I think GS is ALL about the splitting up of the two; the music tells us clearly about the emotions and pain of loosing a relationship like this. The words are sad, the music is melancholic (wich I think is utterly beautiful) but I am so happy that Chris could bend his feelings into the art of music! He is sharing his pain with us on GS, and with the rest of the world. How brave is that?
Another thing: I think the problems are goiing on for a much longer time then we all can imagine. Again: offcourse they they did eveything to save the marriage - and it would have cost time. They did announced their divorce only by now. It is possible they are allready over a painfull part in their proces. Maybe this is why Chris is in a more relaxed state then before.
Anyway, I truly hope that the worst part is now over for Gwyneth & Chris and I hope they both can rebuilding up their lives and be happy again.

I think this has been going on for a while, credit to them that they have tried to make it work. The move to US was probably the last shot to make it work but its hard when Chris is based in the UK while Gwyneth has obviously been pining to get back to America. Sometimes trying to stay together can be harder than living apart, especially with kids maybe Chris seems 'relaxed' because the decision to split takes away the pressure of pretending that all is ok. Good luck to them both, as previously said they are wonderful parents and those kids will always come first

It's on the CNN website and my local news website and on my local radio with Fix You playing in background. My brother first told me the news by text, and I sat there waiting for him to tell me he was joking. I was surprised at first, but now I'm not. I hope the kids will be ok :(, it always makes me more sad when children are involved, I think if it they had no kids it would have been less an impact on me.

It's reported that he hasn't been in the house for a bit and that he actually hasn't been staying in the London house when he's there but with Guy. I don't know if it's true or not, but it's several places. The rumors are going to be coming in fast and furious!

the press is a free for all right now. best keep away. but saw an article saying chris partied with girls in the post grammys show with pictures of him talking to keshia. this probably won't go away for awhile. i wouldn't be surprised if we don't get any traditional interviews or cover stories from chris this era. the thing is, if the rest of the band take on the role, they will be badgered with questions about the divorce. so there is a chance that they will do very limited publicity with some selected places to appear on. for example, steve lamaque. but i have to say that i understand the decisions that were taken to promote this era more and more now. can't say you blame them. it's all for the best although the European fans might suffer with the lack of attention there. hopefully they can get the tv special broadcast there too similar to the nbc deal. and of course promotion there by the rest of the band alone would be good.
