Untitled {Chapter Eight}Rick fired the first few shots. Glass flew everywhere as several people fell to the floor. Guy tried not to look.
Suddenly, Rick pushed him out into the corridor.
“The alarm will go off any minute once they realise that we're here,” he said, “and then all hell will break loose out here.” Just as he said it, a door at the end of the hallway flew open and several armed guards spilled out into the empty space. Rick had no trouble shooting at them causing one of them to flail wildly in pain and drop his weapon.
At this point it occurs to Guy that he had not yet even pulled the trigger on his gun. Quickly, he aimed and fired, trying hard to hit his target. To his surprise, he did.
Bullets flew everywhere as Guy and Rick tried to hold off the guards. After barely thirty seconds, they were outnumbered by six to one as people came out of various doors to join the fight. They were all armed.
After several minutes of relentless gunfire, the last body fell to the ground. Rick grinned and turned to Guy.
“How on earth did we manage that?” Guy asked.
“I don't know, but we're not out of the woods yet,” Rick answered. He gestured towards the door at the opposite end of the corridor. “This place is designed to hold off attacks. No one past that door knows we're here — the alarm only went off in this section. When we go through that door, we'll be in section B — that's where they do the big experiments.” Rick looked uneasy for a moment. “Anyway, the rooms are all soundproof, which will work to our advantage. I want you to go into all of the rooms on the left one by one. I'll go on the right. Got it?”
Guy nodded and they set off. He took a deep breath outside the first door on the left, and turned the handle.
He ran in, immediately shooting the three people that were in there. It was a relatively small room, lined with filing cabinets along one wall. He turned towards them (and away from the bodies, which were still staring at him gruesomely). Something caught Guy's eye. It was a folder with his name on it. It had been placed on top of one of the cabinet, almost as if it was waiting for him. He knew that he ought to be in the next room by now — Rick almost certainly was — but he couldn't resist the temptation to look.
Quickly, he took the folder in his hands, almost ripping it open. His phone fell out and onto the floor, and he picked if up, but that wasn't what interested him. There were several sheets of paper in there, presumably containing important information. He read the first one.
Name: Guy Berryman Operations: Falcon, Galleon
What did that mean? He shook his head, folding the piece of paper and putting it into his pocket. He had to move on.

Untitled I know, I was meant to post this on Wednesday. I have an excuse: laziness!{Chapter Nine}Guy opened the door and stepped out into the corridor. It was deadly silent. He looked left and right, although he knew no one was coming. It just seemed odd that they couldn't hear several bullets.
He pushed the next door open, breathing sharply in as he did so. To his surprise, no one was in there.
It was a large room, with a concrete floor and similar walls. Guy lowered his gun slowly and began to look around. It was mainly made up of odd pieces of equipment, strewn across the floor and occasionally assembled into one machine or another. Tanks of different coloured liquids lined one wall. Against another, there were several desks with screens on them . Guy shot them for good measure — who knew what was contained in them?
“Hello,” said a voice. Guy spun round, pointing his gun into the room's darkest corner. Out of the shadows emerged a woman with wild brown hair sticking out in all directions. Her once white lab coat was covered in odd stains.
Suddenly, she pulled a device out of her pocket and pointed it as his gun. Guy felt the oddw sensation that it was being pulled out of his hand. He gripped it harder, but to no avail. His weapon flew out of his grasp and onto the floor between them.
The woman gave a smirk and picked up the gun. “Nice. Where did you get this?” She raised it, her eyes locked on Guy's forehead. “Now where's that friend of yours?”
“What friend?” Guy said, his voice shaking.
“You know the one I'm talking about. Rick. Where is he?”
“I have no idea what you're talking about.”
“Don't try that with me. I know you're with him. Now where is he?”
“Here.” The voice cam from behind Guy and he quickly turned to see that it was Rick, stood on his other side, his own gun outstretched. “I'm here.”

Untitled I have written a new chapter. It took a while because I had work to do and obviously not because I was playing video games because you all know that I would never be that lazy {Chapter Ten}Guy felt his legs shake.
“I've got every reason to kill both of you right –” Bullets flew in both directions over Guy's head as he threw himself to the floor. When he looked up again, the scientist was lying dead on the floor.
“Let's go,” said Rick. “Since you were being such a slowcoach I managed to kill everyone this side of the corridor for you.”
“Uh, thanks,” Guy replied, standing up slowly. He felt dizzy as they headed back towards the lift.
--------------------
The air outside hit both of them like a slap in the face.
“Well at least those idiots at the lab are gone now,” Rick said, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
“Yeah, thanks for that,” Guy replied, “I guess I'm not used to using a gun.”
“Well, you wouldn't be. But guns are all I've known so far. I was only born a couple of days ago, y'know.”
“So where are you going now? You can sleep on my sofa tonight if you want,” offered Guy.
“Thanks. Much appreciated. I guess I'd better find my own place. Or move abroad. Australia perhaps.”
Guy just grunted in agreement as they turned the corner back to his house.
“You left the car,” Rick said, as Guy searched for his keys.
“I'll get it tomorrow.”
--------------------
Later that night, Guy lay in bed. He reached over for the piece of paper that he had found in his file earlier. He opened it up. Besides what he had seen earlier and several paragraphs of scientific jargon, a particular section caught his eye.
Clone name: Rick Estimated clone lifespan: 3 days
It suddenly hit him. This cloning was still experimental.
Rick was going to die tomorrow.
