As some of you may know, I am a schoolteacher and today was really difficult. My pupils are between 7 and 11 years old. The youngest don't seem to understand what happened but the eldest are revolted. One of them was at the Stade de France and his testimony made everybody cry. Another girl lost her aunt at the Bataclan and when she told us, we cried again. Another one lost her neighbours.
A lot of my pupils are muslim and they don't understand why the terrorists are using God to justify their acts.
I'm crying again while writing so I'm going to eat chocolate and listen to CP.

I feel so sorry for you all, we can never imagine what is going on in their heads to believe that killing innocent people in Gods name is right. These next few days/weeks will be difficult but the whole world is sending you love, it is a scary time and I fear that here in the UK and probably USA will be targeted soon Sending you love and hugs, and eat as much chocolate and listen to as much Coldplay as you need xxx

Making me cry as well. Those poor, poor children, their lives forever damaged by these inhuman monsters. Raphaele, the kids are lucky to have a caring teacher like you to help them through this and to listen to their stories. You are here for a reason. Our love goes out to you and to all of them.

I'm so sorry. Only in time will they understand like the rest of us. There are things that happen that we can't explain. But no matter how dark it gets, the light will come through. However you like to say it, dream it, believe it, good will triumph over evil. If not today, then tomorrow, if not tomorrow then one day it will. Those who died won't be forgotten or left in vain. They will forever be remembered. In order to heal, we have to hurt. But one day, we will rise again. Humanity can be beautiful at the most darkest of times.

Only in time will they understand like the rest of us. Do they? I don't even understand... I've seen the horrible things that happend in WWII, although, not really seen, but the remainings of it. I've thought the world had learned a lot from it. Unfortunally, these complete idiots didn't. I can't call them otherwise. Nothing, but really nothing can justify killing. Not a religion, a skin color or anything else. You may disagree with choices someone else is taking, but it's always their choice and their responsibillity. I am not afraid for attacks. They will come, or not. I wont let it stop me, but I do am afraid for the future. What kind of world are we going to become? In what kind of world is the next generation growing up to? I don't have the answers and I am afraid I don't want te know the answer of that. All we can do is have respect for each other and take care of each other. A lovely teacher, like Raphaele, helps with it. I am also proud of the compassion the world showed to Paris. It also shows that we're not lost (yet). So Raphaele, I hope you had lots of chocolate and CP. Take a good care of those kids, they need you. And we will take care of you virtually! We are here, supporting you!

I wholeheartedly believe we can be the generation that fosters a new dawn for all of humanity. And as you beautifully said Prissie, it all starts with us.

There's nothing more to be said than what you guys haven't already, very beautifully, said. Being in a school as well, I can't imagine what these innocent people make of this when the adults can't even make sense of any of it. And to have lost people they know; my heart breaks for them. They are very lucky, indeed, to have you.

The world is going mad :(
Last Friday France had a soccer match against Germany, when outside the Stade de France the attacks were going.
Tonight Germany had a soccer match against the Netherlands in Hannover. Shortly after Friday it was a question if the match would go through, but it did.
Around 19.30 the stadium was evacuated, because there was a serious tread about a bom which would go of in the stadium.
So far nothing really happened, but I think this kind of stuff scares the hell out. More news have still to come, but come on... The German team had a lot in mind after Friday and now this? Gladly they weren't in the Stadium yet...

Berlin, far from Hanover, good. Thank you for letting me know. I know the countries where everyone is but not the cities.

Maybe we should have a post, maybe in the private threads, of what cities everyone lives in.

It's all a bit confusing, probably because they don't want to give away too much information at this point (which is understandable). Maybe there weren't even serious reasons for the cancellation of this game but it's clear that everyone is still nervous about such events. There appear to have been some hints coming from the French secret service though. Maybe they were too careful this time, but that's better than having more people killed without reason.

I can only agree, Dustin. Rather a cancellation more, then yet again a lot of people killed. Glad tonight there wasn't any killing involved!
