Glad you are ok. I have a collegue in Brussels, his office is in the EU building next to the subway station that was bombed. He was supposed to come by train today to a meeting here with us but he had already passed the station...he was lucky. He and all his co-workers in the building are ok. He is home now but we spent an hour this morning worrying as he could not get messages through. What a terrible time!

So, so, so terrible. I'm extremely glad you are OK, Hannah. I don't know how to handle the rage being felt over the loss of yet more innocent lives. Vile.

I am glad everyone we know is safe. I texted Hannah this morning because I thought she was studying in Brussels. Glad she didn't.
I am travelling a lot by public transport lately and I am hitting two of the main stations in the Netherlands. Today it scared me. On the main stations there are militaries with automatic guns. A part of me is glad they are there, but at the same time it makes me feel sad. France, Belgium, logical new step the Netherlands?
In the train the conductors were very nice. No one was checking tickets, but just walking around to make sure eveyone was ok and to answer question.
I hope sincerly that everyone will keep his head cool. Only love and justice will get us through and no hate....

These are very scary times, the morons doing this have no boundaries, we all struggle to understand whats happening but it is beyond any normal reasoning, wherever you are from please be safe but we must not let them win
Thoughts tonight for the people of Brussels and Belgium

Oh wow I'm glad everyone is ok, I hope you're doing well Hannah! My biggest fear is that this will spiral into a massive Muslim-non-Muslim divide. There is no 'good side' and 'bad side', no 'good fight' and 'bad fight'. There is only love and hate. And we will never achieve peace through hate.

So sad that you guys (and we) have to go through this. The following verses come to mind from "Life in Technicolor II":
There's a wild wind blowing Down the corner of my street Every night there the headlights are glowing There's a cold war coming On the radio I heard Baby it's a violent world
Oh oh love don't let me go Won't you take me where the street lights glow? I can hear it coming I can hear the siren sound Now my feet won't touch the ground

I don't know what to say anymore. We're in a real life nightmare with real life monsters. They have to be stopped.

So glad you're ok, Hannah. What a terrible thing, again, at the heart of Europe, our capital. Terrible for Belgium, you've had to live with this for so long. After Paris 1 and 2 I was shocked, this time I must say I'm so angry. I think about these things every day, every time I'm near the subway or train. So frustrating, what can we do.

Yeah it's crazy how they can recruit so many. It's different from the terror organizations we've seen before. At least both French and Belgian police and others seem to be efficient. I don't know how they found the guy from Paris and they already have suspects for todays attacks.

I can simply not understanding the thinking of these people - it is completely alien to me. So how can you fight somebody whose motivations and reasoning you cannot understand?

It's like they are the world's biggest, most dangerous and craziest religious cult. Their twisted version of the Muslim and Islamic religion, which is not the real religion at all, is just a cult.

You gotta understand that these people have been indoctrinated into their beliefs since little kids. It's hard to let go of beliefs you've held for so long because it becomes a part of you. Most never leave their religion until they die. The ones that do experience some tragedy that makes them question their faith; they gradually work out and figure out the fact that it's all fake, a joke. The teaching of ideology like this to children is the source of the problem. The only thing we can do to combat this is to show them that there is another way, a better way of life. Indoctrination is the problem, and education is the solution. (Excuse the rant, but this is very important to me, and I've had to learn all this the hard way.)
