Prissie what a lovely pic, we all need things to make us smile Im not going to even mention todays events.... and thanks for the quote, indeed by continuing with our everyday lives, and planning for our futures means 'they' hav'nt won You know, despite Michelle Obamas wonderful speech I've got an awful feeling that Trump will get in, sometimes the worst things imaginable have to happen to shake humanity and commonsense up, America.. God help you if this clown wins

100% agree. History has show us that these horrific people never win in the end, so we have to hope that this too will end, soon I hope. Thank you for the lovely loving elephants Leann.

So true, we must vote! Not voting is not a protest, it's a surrender (I did NOT make that up, by the way, it's from the convention last night).

My thoughts today are on the victims of 9/11 and the families and friends they left behind. I just can't imagine the turmoil and devastation that these people felt along with the victims, families and friends of those left behind from all of the world's horrendous terrorist acts. The world stands with you and remembers you.

Mine were too. Although ot wasn't near me, the whole modern world felt this pain. I still know where I was and what I did... I will never forget

Brothers and sisters of FDNY, NYPD and FDNY EMS, you will not be forgotten. Your memory will remain within us forever. We will carry your legacy with us wherever we go. Honoring you, remembering you, and thinking of you every day of our lives. You have made the ultimate sacrifice. All give some, some give all. Thank you.

I was thinking yesterday about the people who lost their lives, as I do every September 11. I watch the TV specials every year because I just cannot believe that something like this happened. In particular, I think about the people aboard United 93, and what they did for our country, knowing their lives would end violently, they are real heroes, not to be forgotten.

Agreed Cathy.
We saw the 9/11 memorial in NY, and it was real... Made me cry.

So today is Peace Day. Frankly it doesn"t seem like it does it? To be honest the only time it felt to me like the world was at Peace was those two hours during The Head Full Of Dreams concert. There was unity there with people of all ages, races, religions, genders it did not matter we were all one for that giant love fest moment. Why can"t this be what real life is all the time? It"s so upsetting to hear whats going on in the news lately-innocent people being shot for no reason, hatred and bigotry is too rampant! Whats even more scary is November 8th right around the corner.I am living in an area where there are majority Trump supporters. Signs everywhere for him. Pickup trucks with confederate flags (which I find very offensive) are very rampant in the streets here. Not many Hiliary signs around here. Imagine what all our lives will be like if he gets to be (I can"t even say this without cringing) President.
