We all have a friend that is in a school. God bless these kids and I think they can change things. There's something special in them, there really is. As Obama said today, "We have been waiting for you". |

I agree Dustin.. There seem to be a lot of double standards. At 16 you can own a gun, join the army, get married, drive a car (in the US 17 here).. why the HELL can't you drink?? To my way of thinking the former is a LOT more dangerous than drinking alcohol! However, the combination of guns and Booze scares me even more! It's true the world is so crazy.. But arming teachers! God almighty...  |

I've seen Delaney Tarr with the Never Again movement wearing a Love Button in some of her interviews. It would be nice to see lovebutton.org join up with them....

My school participated in the walkout today, and it was widely accepted and went smoothly. There was one parent that called to say that he didn't want his daughter to participate for whatever stupid ass reason. But other than that, it went very well. The only thing is that our students didn't walk outside of the building. There were designated, supervised places in the building for them to go because our Admin. felt a bit weirded out by announcing to the world that a bunch of students would be outside at this particular time, so they had a 'walk in' of sorts, but it was the same, just a different place to go. It's a shame that we have to think about such safety concerns.
I, too, am amazed at these students in Parkland. What an unbelievable group of passionate young people, and I want to hug all of them. Our future is definitely brighter thinking that we have students of this caliber coming out of our schools at this time.
More power to them, and I hope they succeed...for all of us.
