Well done, Anita!
No, I didn't start yet. A few things are holding me. First of all: I am a terrible bad mood eater. Work is causing me a real bad mood.
Second: My body doesn't want to do what I want. More in the private threads.
What I am doing, is eating more healthy. It wont lose me weight, but it is a start.

I've read it Priss. And I think you are right!! I am glad you have changed your plans and did not start a diet. Eating more healtyer right now is the best you can ask for yourself. P.S. Our kids are 9 & 11 and only last year was the first time I could convince myself to start working on myself. Wich I did, and of wich I can now wholeheartly say this was the right time for me...

Just eating healthier might help you lose weight though. Healthier foods, with lots of fiber and protein, can sometimes keep you full for longer.

Hilarious. It needs to go on my cupboard where my cookies are!
So, I really am trying a new "thing." I am going to lower my grains, dairy and sugar and see what happens. Yesterday I made tuna salad and ate in on lettuce leaves and today I made a frittata with spinach and tomato and baked bacon in the oven. We'll see!

If anyone (shhh Sharon) wants any advice, I lost around 28 pounds a few years ago.. (I basically ate less and exercised more - but it took a while) they have crept back on (due to personal issues etc and generally being greedy LOL) and I have taken them off again lately. Andy and I tried the 5:2 diet recently and it worked so well, we are going to stick with it for, well for as long as we need to. Basically you can eat more or less (you do need to stick at least mostly to a calorie control in my case 1600 calories a day - you can check you own by going to the 5:2 site for five days, although it does require you log what you eat) what you want for five days, and then for two you stick to 500 calories a day for women and 600 for men on two days a week. It's not as hard as it sounds. We usually skip breakfast on fast days, have maybe a VERY low calorie snack if we get hungry, rice cakes or carrots, then a light lunch, eg Ryvita, or low cal soup, and then the evening meal you can eat more. Just what worked for me. Everyone of course is different. Anita I LOVE that.. I might have to print it out too! I have a photo of me and my friends at my heaviest on my kitchen cupboard. It was the photo that originally inspired me to lose weight.. It does work!

OK, now I have matched my aim I have set a new, other goal: 'just' 2 kilo's to go this time. And I know these will be difficult ones. It helps a lot that I am not bouncing back all the way hence I still eat/snack/drink the same. And I am starting with some delicious white chocolat.... hey, if I cannot eat that sporadic, what is the use of it laying there in my fridge?
