It's not a theater movie, but did anyone watch the Michael Jackson documentary?

I did. It was a fantastic documentary, but also incredibly disturbing. I've never followed Jackson or these allegations closely in the past, so I have never had a strong opinion one way or the other, but after watching these men tell their stories, I found them to be extremely credible. It was tough to watch.

I completely believe Wade and Jimmy. Wade is an amazing dancer and choreographer and I read he felt he needed to stop dancing for awhile because his dancing was so associated with Michael.
Fun fact: in one of the overhead shots in part one, you can see the group of houses where I live (Jimmy is from Simi Valley).

Yes mostly what I hear is that people believe Wade and Jimmy's stories. The funny thing is, I've thought MJ was guilty all along, and until this documentary came out, I kind of thought I was the only one and that most people thought he was innocent after he got acquitted. It feels like more people share my opinion now. Well, it is the Me Too Era. People/men/women/anyone who tries to cover up molestation just won't succeed anymore.

I was never a fan, and I always knew he was doing weird things behind closed doors.
I’ll take Coldplay’s cover of Billie Jean any day.

Me too.. I haven't seen it. But it is sad that some people's hero has been lost to them. tough to imagine how they must feel.

What a story. I haven't seen the documentary yet, and I'm sure I will watch it at some point, and this sounds petty, but I am bummed that a lot of songs from my younger years have been ruined by this and what's gone on in the past. If you're like me, I'm transported back in time to younger days when I hear songs, and he's pissed me off that's he's ruined a lot of songs.
And not saying anything about the current documentary because I haven't seen it yet (but let's face it, I, too, thought he was guilty before and I'm sure he's guilty of this too because he's been a weird little dude for a long time now,) I do feel for his kids who are the ones that will suffer now from the fallout. They were already brought into the world against their will to deal with the crazy and weird shroud of Michael Jackson, and now they are the ones that will continue to suffer emotionally and financially again when they didn't do anything wrong.
Anyhow, all this to say I'll probably watch it one day!

A friend of mine at work said, "I don't really like super hero movies." It just touched on Bruce Wayne and made a connection for the future, but Joker' is not a super hero movie but more a man's journey through his mental health and the broken system that helped create the being that he turned into. It's such a well-made movie, the point was perfectly made, and Joaquin Phoenix was stellar. I left the theater feeling, I guess, disturbed is the word. It really makes you think about how our mental health system is broken, how people fall through the cracks and how these people walk amongst us every day. I always though Joaquin Phoenix was a bit off kilter, haha, and he was a perfect fit for this role in my opinion.

He's a fantastically talented actor, and it's just incredibly sad that there had to be so much controversy over the movie and people worrying about it causing a shooting. Twenty years ago it would have been just a movie.

You know what? Movies don't cause shootings. Guns do. The USA bans things that can hurt people, like toys in Kinder Eggs.. Or Brie! Which is a soft cheese! Scary cheese indeed. But banning guns? Hummm guess that's not scary enough. Sorry off my soap box now.
