What's cooking is... my oven and my stovetop. My microwave died suddenly and I've been getting reacquainted with the slow and patient way of cooking. I'm actually kind of loving it. Gwyneth would be proud...  |

My stovetop is dying, only two plates working and one of them is dead too sometimes :( I need Joie's microwave skills!!
Cooking on my working hotplate is vegetable and beef soup, a recipe from my childhood. I'm SO hungry and it's not ready for at least an hour and a half, must find something to nibble.

My power went out last night right after I started making dinner, I had one burner on and the rest wouldn't start again (you need the electricity for the stove, go figure!) My dinner ended up okay but I was so frustrated I didn't enjoy it.

My dinner ended up okay but I was so frustrated I didn't enjoy it. Exactly! I'm glad my microwave broke now. Food is better the old fashioned way. Sorry your dinner got spoiled. Better luck tonight! Cooking now.. my coffee.. reheating on the stove LOL. Do you know I've been reheating my coffee in the microwave, not realizing that burns it? Yuck. |

That reminds me of yesterday. I might have mentioned in another thread that I am pretty clogged up right now with all kinds of wonderful things in my nose. (Perfect for the cooking thread, eh?) I blew my nose, groaned and made some sort of comment, to which my hub, right on cue, said, "And it was all yellow?" [Enter joke drum taps] Perfect man.
We made turkey sloppy joes, and they were good.
