We (in Holland) use the name "koekies" too. Koekies & cookies are pronounced the same here.
Dustin good find; cookies are not 'cooked' haha; we 'bake' them. Maybe we should name cookies 'bake-ies'? :shrug:

LOL! Well.. following on from the success of the green (Shrek) Cookies.. I decided to bake some cupcakes. I have never tried doing this before. Well not unless you count making butterfly cakes as a kid. But the fantastic coloured things covered in large amounts of frosting.. not.. so I gave it a try,

What do you think? As a first attempt? I needed more icing sugar, I ran out.. so that's why some of them are a little light on the frosting. I also don't have an icing nozzle big enough to pipe them, so I squished it on with a spoon LOL.. But Oli says they taste 'Really nice'.

Edit: It's my MIL's Birthday tomorrow, and so I made her a cupcake LOL.. hence the candle.

and vice versa, add a bit more batter to each cup. Then go crazy with the frosting.

Your MIL's cupcake looks pretty darned good. I hope she enjoyed it!!

My Christmas dinner turned out wonderful! We decided to stay home and cook instead of going out (mostly because the restaurant we go to closed for good!) We had turkey, brussel sprouts with bacon, mashed potatoes, biscuits and rose wine. Delicious!

She did.. well everyone ate them, so they must have been OK.

And yes, I learned I need to make more batter and use MORE icing.. I just ran out. Next time, if there is one and we haven't all died from overeating here LOL.. then I will do that. Thank you.
