Some quick thoughts...
A shoot in late Jan for a video to be released in May seems like a pretty big gap but maybe that is just when they were able to schedule it...
I would love if the single was released in March and it is actually the album that is out in May...
Even if it is the single that is out in May the album wont be that far behind - June I would think...
I think we are going to hear something official the first week of March... |

Yeah no one wants to release in the same time as U2. But all of these came sort of out of nowhere and now its just building up. Although I don't want to officially freak out until there's an official statement on their website, fb or twitter, but I'm getting very excited...  |

^ I think U2 are releasing around that time and Coldplay don't want to be at the same time You might be right and i can see them thinking along those lines although these days I think U2 would have just as much reason to steer clear of a Coldplay release... For what it is worth the U2 album is still just as much up in the air as ever. The band has said in recent interviews that they still have a few months of recording left ahead of them. A lot of fans on the U2 boards are starting to fear another delay and a fall release. It is odd to me anyway that in this day and age bands are concerned with this. People can buy more then one album a month and with the internet driven 24 hour news cycle you no longer have to worry about a lack of press. back in the day you wanted your own month so you could get all the magazine covers... now in the blog age you can have a huge story one day and another just as huge story the next. People's attention span moves that fast now anyway... it is amazing how one feeds into the other. Fast news cycle = low attention span... low attention span = fast news cycle. Back on topic though... I can see them wanting at least a few weeks in between to get that still important debut at #1. I'm just over the moon that we are getting a new U2 album and a new Coldplay album in the same year. If Radiohead were to announce something for this fall I think I might just die. |

With the whole Magic theme, I wonder if they'll use illusions on the new tour. I can Imagine the band disappearing from the main stage only to magically reappear on a second or third stage...and That's Just the beginning of what they could do!

Well, we don't know if it's a Magic theme. Just because the song is about/called Magic, doesn't mean the entire album is going to be Magic themed.
