Funny that they are in the pop album category, I think GS is kind of hard to categorize.

it definitely was more alternative than mx. i can't remember whether that got a nom. but in all seriousness, the chances are they won't get any grammys this time around either.

I said it before and I still think that Ghost Stories was Coldplay's pop album. I think they were categorised correctly. Mylo Xyloto contained more rock and alternative elements than Ghost Stories. Pop songs: Always In My Head, Magic, Ink, True Love, A Sky Full Of Stars, Alternative songs: Midnight, Another's Arms, Oceans, O I hope they won't get any Grammys because I want them to improve In my eyes, it's been their weakest album so far. My graph would look like this haha (5 is best, 0 is worst) _____________________________________ |----5---------|--------|------|------|----|----| |---------------|---4---|------|--4--|----|----| |---------------|--------|-3---|------|----|----| |---------------|--------|------|------|-2-|----| |---------------|--------|------|------|----|-1-| |Parachutes|Rush |X&Y|Viva|MX|GS | -------------------------------------

Everyone has their own opinions of course. Viva and RoB are my top favourites, with probably Ghost Stories and MX second. With X&y and Parachutes third. So it really does depend on your own way of looking or listening to it.
No Grammys though? Does that mean you think that Katy Perry or Miley Sirus are better? Who do you think should win?

I think that Ed Sheeran has a chance to win a Grammy for the best vocal album. Why not? Fancy by Iggy Azalea (who Chris seems to like according to that one radio interview LOL!) and Charlie XCX could win a Grammy for being the best Pop Duo. I think their song was a massive hit in America, so they might win. The parts Charlie XCX sings are quite catchy after all I cannot really say anything about the music films because I haven't seen the others but to me, the whole Coldplay "concert" (or karaoke show - how you like it) was badly produced. They had a wonderful stage and they were looking good but I didn't like that the cameras were circling around all the time. It would have been fine if they had used more static cameras. Maybe Beyoncé and Jay-Z could win this? They had Jonas Åkerlund as the producer (yes, the person who shot that fantastic Magic video!), so maybe they will win that Grammy. Will Coldplay be at the ceremony? If so, I guess they are very likely to win a Grammy. I cannot imagine that they would be invited (being such a successful band as they are) and people let them go home without a Grammy in the end. Their managers surely know how to prevent that from happening because it would be a bit embarassing for the band.^^ If they don't turn up there, they will probably not win anything, that's my guess ^^

i agree about coldplay being at the ceremony part. GS was lukewarm generally in the US. so probably they won't get any.
