OK this is not random, but couldn't think of anywhere else to post it today. Sorry the heat here is too much for my poor brain.
Will they tour this new album and when?
Thoughts?

For someone who can't sleep at night because songs are coming to him constantly, it's hard to believe he could just stop writing music. I know he's said this hundreds of times by now, but he's said it so many times lately that part of me really thinks he feels this to be true. I guess time will tell. Chris Martin says Coldplay will stop making music in 2025"Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then"By Matthew Neale 22nd December 2021Coldplay will stop writing new music as a band in 2025, according to new comments from Chris Martin. The singer made the announcement to BBC Radio 2 presenter Jo Whiley for a special show to be broadcast tomorrow (December 23) from 7pm. Speaking on Wednesday’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show (via The i), Wiley shared an audio clip in which Martin can be heard confirming the news. “Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour,” Martin said. “Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then.” Whiley added that the frontman’s playfulness meant she didn’t always know when he was speaking in earnest. “He’s always very funny and I’m never quite sure if he’s joking or being deadly serious,” she told Ball. The band released their ninth studio album, ‘Music Of The Spheres’, earlier this year. Speaking to NME in October, Martin said: “We’re going to make 12 albums. Because it’s a lot to pour everything into making them. I love it and it’s amazing, but it’s very intense too. “I feel like because I know that challenge is finite, making this music doesn’t feel difficult, it feels like, ‘This is what we’re supposed to be doing’.” He added: “I don’t think that’s what we’ll do. I know that’s what we’ll do in terms of studio albums.” Coldplay pulled out of two performances earlier this month following positive COVID tests from members of their touring party. The band were due to play at the Capital Jingle Bell Ball in London on December 11 and then appear on The Voice Of Germany two days later. “We send our love to the individuals affected and wish them a swift recovery,” the band wrote in a statement posted to social media. Martin also admitted that there’s still “quite a long way to go” when it comes to finding a completely eco-friendly way to tour. link

He means it but he won’t stop writing. Also I really think he plans to have more kids and tend to them.

Chris Martin says ‘Back To The Future’ is the reason Coldplay existMartin told Kelly Clarkson of his pride of having the 1985 film's star Michael J. Fox joining Coldplay on stage in 2016By Will Richards 12th January 2022Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has discussed how Back To The Future made him want to be in a band. Martin was appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show and discussing his favourite cover versions that Coldplay have performed on stage over the years. The frontman then spoke of his pride of having the 1985 film’s star Michael J. Fox joining Coldplay on stage at the MetLife Stadium in New York in 2016 to perform songs from the film. “My No. 1, probably, is Michael J. Fox came and played two of the songs from Back to the Future with us. … That was really wonderful,” he told Clarkson. “Him coming to play ‘Johnny B. Goode’ and stuff, that was wonderful.” Discussing Fox’s performance of Chuck Berry‘s ‘Johnny B. Goode’ in Back To The Future, Martin added: “That’s what made me want to be in a band, you know? That scene, yeah. “I grew up in real farmland of England, before the internet. So any music on TV … The first thing I ever recorded was, there was a show called The A-Team. And I had a cassette recorder and held it against the TV to record the theme tune.” Elsewhere, Martin has said that Coldplay will stop writing new music as a band in 2025. “Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour,” Martin told BBC Radio 2 presenter Jo Whiley last month. “Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then.” The band released their ninth studio album, ‘Music Of The Spheres’, earlier this year. I know that’s what we’ll do in terms of studio albums.” The band are set to head out on a pioneering eco-friendly tour this year, with Martin recently admitting that there’s still “quite a long way to go” when it comes to finding a completely eco-friendly way to tour. In October, the band announced that they were going to make their 2022 world stadium tour as ecologically friendly as possible. This followed their statement in 2019 that they were taking time to consider how they would tour in the future in an environmentally friendly manner. link

I did what Kelly did, started recording a song on the radio. She’s right, just when you hit record, the DJ wouldn’t stop talking.

I wasn't sure where to put this and will probably move it at some point, but there's a new song Chris/CP co-wrote with a member of BTS (Jin) called "The Astronaut" coming out on October 28th. All able-bodied young men in South Korea have to serve a mandatory 18-month run in the military, which is very sad for BTS fans, and Jin is the first one to enlist around the end of October, which is what inspired this collab. Here's the teaser video: There were pictures of a text between Chris and Jin posted online:

Sad for BTS fans, yes. And it's a scary time in this world to have to be in the military right now. Glad he has good and loving friends like Chris.
