Something to kill the silent of recording.
What do you think is the best album opener and why?

For me, Politik is the best album opener ever. It is attention grabbing, it makes me curious about how the album will go on and last but not least it is a damn good song. I will vote for Politik!

I know V will agree with you!
CP have some fantastic opening songs. Don't Panic was the first CP song I ever heard back in the day, so it holds a special place in my heart (and is in my top two). BUT....
For sheer power...for reaching out and grabbing you by the throat and making you sit up and listen, not with just powerful music but with powerful lyrics....and since their second album was important as a follow up and for cementing them as a successful band, I'll go with Politik as well.

Ooooh, good question! I would normally say Politik, but I'm on a Ghost Stories kick right now and Always in My Head is such a departure, it eases you into the album and sets the mood, and it's a lovely, sexy song to boot. I would also vote for Life in Technicolor if they had left the lyrics on it.

Golly that's a hard one! I really do love Don't Panic as an opener just because it's not only the opening to the CD, but really the opening to their first real full length CD and therefore an opening to the band as a whole, and the sweetness and simplicity of him and Jonny singing together kind of says it all for me. That's all symbolism though.
