Lovers in Japan! Hope you all had a good time and a good journey home. I wonder if Dustin found something to do...Gelsenkirchen sounds nice, like a small German city with castles and parks Waiting patiently (well) for reviews and photos. Um, no it's actually an industrial town... Sorry, had so much work to catch up to, pics will have to wait till tomorrow. It's almost 2am here and I am still working :( No don't apologize, take your time!! Hope you got some sleep Great pics Dustin! The effects look fantastic. I haven't watched many videos, want to be surprised and I think I will be.

Thank you I am looking forward to seeing some photos from the others who were there, as well I could post more pictures but I don't want this thread to be about me only LOL Oh and before I forget about it: When I arrived at the venue, I could Coldplay hear rehearse some songs and I wrote them down on my mobile phone. They rehearsed: Lovers in Japan In My Place Magic A Head Full Of Dreams

OK, so that Dustin does not feel so alone, here is my report...and my pictures. Report - turned out longer than I had planned : As you have already heard the weather was not good that day - it felt more like being in a jungle than in Germany. I got there at noon as it was a more than 3-hour train journey for me but my friends had already been queueing from 10 and 8 am resp. and they had kept a place for me. That was not a problem as there was hardly anyone queueing there. So we sat there alternately soaked by the rain or steamboiled by the sun. Security was friendly if a bit inexperienced. Anita came in the afternoon and was standing across from us, so they let both of us into the "forbidden zone" so we could hug We were the first ones in, it was all quite surprisingly relaxed. The early entry VIP ticket holders had taken most front of stage places at the A stage so we headed to the B-stage which had been our original plan anyway. There was nobody there and it took quite a while till more people joined us. I knew Alessia Cara from the radio and quite like her songs, but the sound was bad. I suppose that is always a problem for a supporting act - I am no techie but I imagine there are not many resources left for them I had never heard of Lianne La Havas but I liked her - really great voice and she came across as a very likeable person. Also the sound was better Well, and then: Coldplay! What can I say? The show was amazing and absolutely beautiful! I had mixed feelings before the concert - the last times I had seen the boys were at small venues like the Radio concert in Cologne and recently the War Child concert. Those were so intimate and I was worried that all the effects would kill the - I don't know how to call it - "spirit" or "connection". I do not need a big show to enjoy myself, often I prefer a simple performance focused on the artists. But I need not have worried - the connection was still there. Chris' energy is enough to fill 100 stadiums . And the show was just beautiful - there is no other word to describe it! You have seen the setlist and will all experience the show yourselves so I do not need to get into details adn I do not wnat to ruin the surprises for you either. So just a few things: I liked our spot as we were really close to the boys during the B-stage set and also Chris came up there quite often. My friend had written a message on a paper saying "Thank you for being my happy place" and when the boys came up to the B-stage Chris spotted it, crouched down to read it and when he got it he grinned and blew her a kiss! That was just... Inner fangirl moment... Also our spot gave us the opportunity to see the roadies hard at work - Hoppy, Matt, all of them. We could have touched them but of course we did not as they are hard working people focussed on their duties and we are not rude . Gosh, and how they were stressed when the piano did not work! We saw quite a lot of Miller and were really tempted to address him but again of course we did not. He was taking pictures and every time he showed up we knew Chris would be coming up to the B-stage. All the pics they put on instagram must have been made by Miller, I hope they make a calendar out of them again LiJ was a big surprise and I loved it but I was dissappointed about the request song In My Place. I like that song but for me it's THE Buckin' moment song - with Chris and Jonny on the runway and confetti. This version did not quite do it for me. Also I found the request video really embarrassing - but then I have watched a few of them afterwards and most were. I loved all the new songs live though I preferred the version of Hymn for the Weekend without Beyonce-playback they did at the War Child concert. Up & Up with that fantastic video on the big screens - incredible. And the Xylobands! Jason, for creating that kind of beauty I forgive you all your cringy tweets They all surprised us by playing for 2 hours, it was the perfect length to me. But all good things have to come to an end, so it was all over, wea gathered some confetti and were ushered out by the security quite fast. On the way home I ended up in Cologne where I found out that they had cancelled all night trains to Bonn (there used to be one every hour but apparently not any more...). So I chose not to wait till 4:30 am but took a taxi. And now I know the price of a taxi from Cologne to Bonn - you live and learn! (It's 57 € btw) Can't wait for Wembley! Pictures to follow...

Awesome! I love reading people's stories. The blown kiss would have killed me for the rest of the show!! Actually what really killed me was Chris' smile just before the blown kiss - the moment he realized what the words were saying and he broke into that dazzling genuine smile. Still not over it.
