Foxes talks whiplash, tattoos and life on the road with Coldplay
By Sinead Garvan
When Foxes was asked to support Coldplay on the American leg of their tour, she said she "couldn't believe it." But now, she's been back in the UK for a few days and it's started to sink in.
Backstage she tells Newsbeat about what an amazing experience it was for her to be on the road with Chris Martin and the rest of the band for a month.
"It was something I will never forget," she says. "It was 80,000 people a night, in stadiums across America. "It was really amazing. I still haven't really taken it in but I miss it."
She says despite the magnitude of Coldplay as a band, the atmosphere on tour is very relaxed.
"It isn't like a machine, it's like a family," she says.
"It's hard to explain how welcoming and lovely such a massive band can be. I just felt so at home - everyone was so supportive and looked after each other."
As for Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, she can't speak highly enough of him.
"He is really welcoming and friendly and he has always been someone who has been really supportive of my career," she says. "My keyboardist does a bit of magic and Chris got him to open up one night. I just think that is really nice."
And she made great friends with Alessia Cara too who was the other support act. "I love her - she's like Brittany Murphy's character [Tai] in Clueless."
But the month on tour was not without a little bump along the way.
"I ended up getting whiplash a week in," she laughs. "We went to an adventure playground on one of our days off. "My bandmates were like, 'You have to jump off a 40 foot tower and land on this airbed.' Anyway, I did it and hurt my neck. I couldn't move my neck at all for the rest of the tour - it's only just better."
But the fun didn't end there.
"Then I got a tattoo an hour before going on stage," she laughs even harder. "We got a tattooist in before a show and I got him to do my Grandma's handwriting right before. "I just messaged my grandma to write the word 'lovely' and send it to me.
