There was a similar thread for 2014, so I figured since we're now in the final trimester of 2016, I'd get the ball rolling. (Also, my "first" official post!! ) Mine wasn't too eventful. This year marks 4 years out of high school and I still haven't really found my place in the world yet. I haven't bloomed into a "normal" person just yet. Things haven't gotten much easier since I last posted in the 2014 thread, but also not worse either, so that counts for something. Late last year I received confirmation that I was indeed diagnosed mildly autistic when I was younger, which explains so much about my developmental years: not being very social, trouble expressing my true feelings, couldn't keep eye contact etc. I'm thankful that I still have a supportive family, and thankful for this incredible band (and many others) we all know and love for keeping my spirits up. I try not to focus too much on the anxieties the future might hold because it hasn't happened yet, and because I believe in keeping my focus on the present. So whatever the future does hold in store, I will meet it when it comes, with the same reason provided to me for today. In other news, this year I was given my first jury summons. Delightful.

This year has gone by way too fast!!!!! I'm not ready for a year-end review yet! You are quite young Caius, 22?, you will have plenty of time to find your place in the world, for sure, don't lose faith. Life is a process of continuous growth. I think it's great that you've figured out your diagnosis; this will just help you to understand your childhood better and the reason for any of your social difficulties. Knowledge is good, knowledge is power. I don't think anyone in the world is really "normal", that's a relative term!

I agree with Liann. Time will make you understand. My 2016 has not been the best year ever. I will actually be quite glad when 2017 starts. I won't go into details, as most of you know what things my year has thrown at me so far. But looking forward to next year. We have booked a holiday of a lifetime in Grenada in January for our 25th Wedding Anniversary so it's got to be a better year.

My year has gone well so far! After years of problems with family, feelings and depression, I think I found a way to make the world better for me.
I've always lived in the present as well, but also in the past. I've learned how to leave the past, although it's still there every now and then. But I definitly learned to have dreams for the future. I've been doing things I didn't think I was able to do.
So, jovianthunder, live in the present, but do have dreams for the future and try to reach them. It will motivate you. Not everything will work out the way you want, but you will learn, just the way I did, you can do more then you think!

Leann and Prissie are dishing out some good advice up there J. Life is ever evolving, and even though you may go through some difficulties, what you are looking for may just be around the corner. Hang in there. And Prissie, I'm thrilled that you have found a way to let go of the past.
2015 came the engagement and marriage of my son, and it didn't take them long to bring a baby into the world, which is what has dominated my 2016. Many events led up to the birth, and we were thrilled, of course, that a healthy, beautiful baby joined our family. She's been a God send. We also had a niece born two days after Lucy so my sister and I had granddaughters at the same time which is cool since we do most things together. Like Leann, I'm not ready to make a full review, but I am grateful for this past summer which gave me a chance to see best friends from across the ocean again, meet new, wonderful ones from here and finally get the chance to say a few words to the best band on the planet, which I will never forget. That definitely made 2016 a year to remember as well. Crossing my fingers that the rest of it will be kind to me, but so far, I'm very thankful.

Update: 2 or 3 weeks ago I finally got a job at a dog walking business. My mother and sister also work there so we all go together then meet up at the end of the day. It's been real fun, but it's taxing because 1, all the clients are based in a city 40 minutes away, so driving to and from, plus traffic can get hard; and 2, my boss is very big about "engaging" with people, which is difficult for me but I think I'll eventually come around. This whole month has been such a rapid compression of things that most people my age would have got done years ago into such a short period of time. But in the end, I still get to hang out with pups all day and I am just loving it. Now if I could just a grip on the dating aspect of life, I'd be as golden as Chris' locks from the X&Y and VIVA days. I hope all is well with rest of you all too.

Sounds like being with doggies all day must make it all worth while. I am glad you are happy.
