Chris has said many, many times that playing live was what gave them much-needed positive feedback and happiness, not in those exact words but the sentiment is the same, so I cannot imagine them not touring. Maybe stadiums will be left out this time around? Low-key venues would just make sense for what has so far been low-key songs, compared to a stadium for what was a rather bombastic pop album (there were one or two quieter songs there but I largely forget them)

We'll see how the rest of the album plays out. I find it hard to imagine that there wont be at least one anthem. I feel like Chris has the ability to make one every three years, as he has been doing it for a decade and a half.

So here's a thought:
AROBTTH was an important Coldplay record because it possibly could have never existed, and without it (specifically In My Place) we probably wouldn't have Coldplay today.
VLVODAAHF was an important Coldplay record because it was the most drastic shift they've ever taken. This album marked the beginning of a certain spirit I've seen in the band up to today, where they are always trying to reinvent themselves and not fall back on old tricks. I know a lot of people loved X&Y but it wasn't really pushing the band forward like VIVA did.
MX was important because it marked the end of them caring about what other people thought. You can really see this burst through in the music and the live performances.
So what will make Ghost Stories important? What is their goal this time around?
I think these things will become more clear when we watch them perform tomorrow, and in the following two months where we should certainly get a few interviews as promo warms up. Very exciting times, indeed.

A thought on big shows for this album... I think even if it keeps with the direction that we've seen so far (which I don't really expect) that they could play huge venues with it. They'll still have a lot of the anthems in the set list, plus if you can play The Scientist and Amsterdam etc.. songs like that in a huge venue.. which they can, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to for this stuff. I think the live shows are where they come alive. Starting tomorrow I'm hoping to see that for this awesome new era.

Guys!!! Any chances for a duet on Ghost Stories?? Like what we heard on MX!! Probably not, it doesn't say "feat." for any of the tracks on iTunes, but who knows, it might change or might be the case with the 3 bonus tracks we get when we buy the CD at Target in the States.

If the new songs played at the itunes fest are anything to go by Ghost Stories is going to be a classic. Always In My Head and Another's Arms both had an amazing sound... Magic had a great energy live and Midnight... oh man Midnight was stunning!
