What an unbelievable day. Basically, a neighbor of mine who was driving down our street on his way home suffered a heart attack and crashed his car into another vehicle before running up into a neighbor's yard. It was a loud crash, and one that my sister and I just happened to hear just seconds after I'd pulled into my garage. I called 911 and helped a neighbor pull the man from the car. He gave him chest compressions as I did the breathing for him. It was so strange. The man's face was pale, and his lips were blue, no breathing, but after a few minutes, he began to breathe somewhat normally. I mean, OMG. I actually helped to save a man's life. I actually feel so strangely about it. Good, of course. Unbelievable actually. But on the other hand, it was so scary and surreal to see a man's life with such an uncertain outcome for a long time, and it actually haunts my thoughts to be honest. And the kickers, the man's yard he crashed into was a doctor who happened to be home that day, and this was my last day off before school is back in session tomorrow. Normally, none of us would have been around that time of day. I haven't heard any updates since he went to the hospital, but wow, what an unbelievable day. That is incredibly surreal .. we had a car crash similar to that last year, but I didn't have to run up and help perform CPR to rescue a man's life. I can only hope to save lives as a nurse in the future, I mean, I wouldn't be a first responder, I'm not quick enough on my feet .. but nevertheless, saving lives in some way is always good. I'm glad that guy was okay, I've heard about the whole blue lips thing and my brother's stories as an EMT, and about some of the crazier calls he'd received/been on, but none of those are as crazy as that.

Another fun drawing, yeah!! .. it's been a while since I've drawn Phil, and uh, you know, smiles are important. (a little style experimentation to come, this is just to start)

I don't know, honestly, but it didn't explode. The pool's supports folded in on themselves and they all fell inward as water rushed out. It was a long time ago, so, I don't really remember. I just remember feeling sad we didn't have a pool anymore.

Lucky!! We got rid of our pool a long time ago, dad had to take it down though, since our neighbor's pool (which was the same age as ours) imploded .. and when you're neighbor is in her late 90's and your kids are like, 14 and 12, you get rid of your pool to NOT have them die (our neighbor was not in her pool when it imploded, thank god, but the point still stands).

Viva was the album that got me into Coldplay. My brother's buddy let him borrow the CD, and I heard the two of them listening to it, and I was like, "Yeah, yeah this is cool!" I kept hearing "Viva la Vida" everywhere; at school, on the radio, NPR I think talked about the band one morning while we were listening before school. The point is, it's my favorite album and I even used one of my favorite songs off the album for my senior art show video. I love this album, it is one of my favorite things to listen to and probably always will be.

It's cloudy and threatening to rain here, and it's also humid ... which is a complete and total change from the last few days. It's not September yet, but it's felt like it, and now the weather has decided to change its mind and it like "oh, nope, it's summer!"

It's super cold here, and been threatening to rain ALL DAY, and I'm terrified it's going to be another thunderstorm.

It's very sad especially when you've spent sooooo many years focusing on just them, it's hard. BUT it's a good sad. It's life, and it's what's supposed to happen. This son will move on to medical school (hopefully not the kind of doctor you described above, ha!) after he graduates, so he's got quite a bit of schooling left in him, but he's massively, massively responsible and acts so grown up. The other one has graduated and began a new job a few months ago and is getting married next year. So life is moving on! And both of them were extremely gracious with me when they first went to college, and still are to be honest. But yes, I digress. It's sad for a parent, but like I said, it's a good sad, and I'm glad they are becoming such wonderful adults in the process. Niagara Falls outside of your window, awesome!! The Falls are right there, more or less, it's more like the gorge is right there and the Power Authority obscures the view a bit, then there's Canada (which yes, people wave to when they're drunk .. it's rather amusing to hear them yell "HI CANADA!!"), and then the Falls. It's still beautiful either way, I live on campus in the dorms rn and I love it! It's a beautiful campus and a great school, even if it's a small private uni. And I like to think I'm mature, but I know I've still got a lot more time to grow up and become even more mature. More to learn and such like that. I'm super thankful my parents are holding my hand so much, so to speak, it's good to know you still have that base of support until you can fully transition after I'm done with school. And my brother graduates this year, I'm only a sophomore. It is life moving on, and it's wonderful and sad (in a good way) for most everyone. I know some kids had a harder time adjusting, like my boy did, since he was so far from home, but you make friends and meet awesome people and life goes on.

My youngest is going back to college tomorrow actually (sniff, sniff), and I'm going to miss him. Yes, he's not too far away, but he's such great company for me, and I love having him here so much. But I so understand wanting to get back to college and friends. It's the life really! You are acting like a grown up, handling finances, an apartment, etc., but you still have your main bills paid for by your parents. So yeah, a good life! I've already taken him out and supplied him up! I know my parents pay for most everything for me, and I can act as adult as I want, I know I'd fall flat without my parent's help. I'm amazed and admire one of my friends for having her own apartment already, paying for college, having her own car, and working. And I know it's sad for my parents while my brother and I are at college, even the dog is sad when we leave, but it is college!! We're starting our own lives, learning skills for a profession, heck, I get placed into the hospital come this spring!! And it's going to be amazing! But I guess it's just like, "oh, our kid isn't a kid anymore" kinda deal .. not sure, I'm not a parent.

Hi guys! Jumping into your conversation! Keaton, I feel your pain with the mechanics. Not that all are like this because they surely are not, but I think being a woman puts an extra spin on that because they constantly talk down to you or try to sell you things that you don't need because they think you don't understand. And another guy who came to give us a quote on a pool constantly ignored me, even when I asked him a direct question. He would answer my husband and not even look at me. The hub actually started giggling because he could feel Sharon reaching her limit, and in his soft spoken and polite way told the guy, "Listen, you're really selling this pool to my wife, so if you want a sale, you might want to act like she's here..." Julia, college is awesome, so I can understand you wanting to go back! And I hope you enjoyed your Chinese food if you got it! LOL I can imagine that scenario Sharon, and the looks you must have been shooting him! LOL! I hope you got your car sorted Keaton, without having to say no thank you TOO many times. Hope the Chinese food was nice Julia and your doggie got his walk. We took my son to a restaurant for dinner, as he is going away tomorrow. And a world first occurred, he paid for his own meal. We give him a weekly allowance, paid directly into his bank account, and he now has to budget for his own things when he wants them. It's very strange having a son who is not a child any longer. Then of course I took him to the supermarket and I bought him stuff for a packed lunch tomorrow, and some more stuff to take away with him. He is NOT going to run out of food that's for sure LOL! Jeez, Sharon, that's awful!! People are such assholes. My mom and professors have already warned me that, as a nurse (to-be) a lot of doctors are going to be like, "YOU'RE WRONG BECAUSE YOU'RE A NURSE AND A WOMAN!!" and male nurses are often just frowned upon in general because they're men working in a "women's profession". And I have been DYING to get back to college. I haven't seen any of my friends since about May, and it's killing me that move in is so close, yet still not here just yet. Also, the beauty of Niagara Falls being outside my dorm room window, I miss that too. I did not get Chinese food, sadly, but momma's making wings tonight, so, I'm glad I didn't. And puppy got her walk, she's exhausted. Some of the kids I used to babysit stopped us and had to pet her, and a 7 and 5 year old petting and hugging Meeka because "she's so soft!" wore the poor old dog out. And Row ... my parents do the same thing for me when I go to college. They take me out to dinner (since I pay for my own after earning my own money regularly at school) they pay for when we go out to dinner and get me groceries when I need them ..

I'm picky about that kind of stuff. The majority of the year here is pretty cold, so, SOME heat would be nice. Ohh okay. That doesn't sound so bad. Yeah, wouldn't hurt. Speaking of the cold and almost raining, the dog is being a whimp and I have to go out for a walk with her. I'll see ya later. Poor Meeka has to go out.

Oh cool, what are you drawing? Chinese food sounds good. =P I'm just doodling, silly sketches and nothing too special. And it's tempting, since I'm home alone, but the weather is kind of threatening (it's been raining on and off a lot lately, and it's WAY COLDER than it should be for August).

Drawing, as usual, enjoying my day off. Thinking about college and possibly getting some Chinese food for lunch.
