If I remember correctly people also freaked out when they heard "A spell a rebel yell" and it was nothing like Viva I like it, but I'm a sucker for atmospheric music. I just missed some Jonny guitar :( It's very Jon Hopkins

Maybe this song is that Avicii was doing with Chris?

If I had heard that on the radio without knowing it was Coldplay I wouldn't have had a clue. The song will take some getting used to.

I like it, i've given it one listen and I can still hear it in my head. Yes its different but not all the songs are going to be like this so let's trust them I think we're in for a nice surprise

I love the song, but I agree with that comment that I read on youtube: (especially justin vernon and all of his music archive : volcano choir, solo justin etc.), so this song doesn't make me feel like I am listening Coldplay. But I STILL CAN'T WAIT FOR ITUNES FESTIVAL

I... feel disoriented and confused. I don't think I can really say that it's bad/good or awesome/crap, this really is a song that needs to sink in. I love how atmospheric and calm it sounds, and it is catchy (the lyrics I can make out, I mean). At the same time though, the fact that Chris's voice is altered/autotune was used and we don't hear Jonny (or Will, Guy for that matter) at all... That actually bothers/shocks me. Can't really say I absolutely love the video (really trippy omg) but maybe that needs to sink in as well?
Really confused.

A funny tweet reacting to the song:
Bye bye Mylo Xyloto teenager fans, now you can go to glowing the F**k off in the dark! #Midnight #Coldplay

Thank god, they have grown some balls. Loving it so far (one listen). Reminds me of Bon Iver which is great. I'm so relieved they're trying something new, whatever it may turn out to be.

I AM SPEECHLESS IN THE MOST WONDERFUL WAY
Okay okay little background here: Since 2013 i started to listen to a lot of ambient/electronic music such as Massive Attack, Bonobo, BT, Jon Hokpins and many others, this newgenre grew so much on me that now i can say that it's my favourite genre (i enjoy it more than alternative rock). There's nothing bettere than your favourite band doing a track like this. It's the best thing ever. Im gonna die bye
