I wish everyone I worked around at work didn't vote for Trump.

I have been having a media blackout because I can't stand to see it. I am having a very difficult time just sitting with and eating lunch with people that I know voted for Trump. It's a very strange feeling because this is not your normal election. I keep hoping upon hope upon hope that something will come up and this will all end up being good for us. But I feel almost victimized. I know that sounds extreme. I know that we don't have a choice and I am just crossing my fingers that we avoid things that I fear. I appreciate the pep talk words, Keaton, and one day I will have that fight be out of this feeling of mourning. The positively is extremely appreciated. I don't think you sound extreme to feel victimized. I mean, Hillary won the popular vote right? More people in our country voted for her than not voted for her, and yet we don't get to have her as our President. So, seems normal to feel victimized from that. That's not a very fair system. It needs to be changed.

In light of the protests and the popular vote (they estimate she received 1.5 million more votes!), wouldn't this be great? "The Electoral College is made up of chosen electors who vote for president -- but they do not vote on Election Day. Rather, according to the New York Post, they will come together on December 19. Typically, they vote for the candidate who won the electoral college votes. Should the electors keep to this, Trump will win. Electors may defect, however, or abstain from voting. In this case, Clinton could win. If electors do this, they are called "faithless electors." While it seems like a viable option, this is incredibly rare. The New York Times reported that 99 percent of electors vote as they're bound." link

It would be the happiest day of my life, to find out that I would no longer have to fear that this bull-in-a-china-shop will accidentailly get us into a nuclear war every day for the next four years. I will be praying every day until December 19th that our Electoral College will be bestowed with some miraculous wave of bravery and common sense that seems to have escaped every one else up until now.

Also, "Crooked Donald" will apparently be going to trial before the inauguration. So there's that... Donald Trump failed to persuade a federal judge to postpone a Nov. 28 trial in which he'll face former enrollees in his real-estate seminars who claim they were cheated. U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel in San Diego on Thursday rejected the request by the Republican presidential candidate's lead lawyer to put off the trial until January. Trump's lawyer, Dan Petrocelli, had asked for the delay because he has another case going to trial less than two weeks before the Trump University dispute and argued he wouldn't be able to prepare adequately. "Defense counsel had multiple opportunities to raise the issue with the court prior to Aug. 26, 2016, but did not do so," the judge said. The Trump University case scheduled for trial is one of two class actions by the former students who claim they were cheated into paying as much as $35,000 for real-estate investment seminars. The students allege they were lured by false promises that the seminars would be taught by instructors who were hand-picked by Trump and that they would learn the billionaire's investment secrets. www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-09-15/trump-university-trial-to-go-ahead-in-november-as-delay-rejected

It's funny, but it's so out of reach for soooo many people. I feel if you're poor, gay, a different color other than white, you will be targeted under a Trump administration, and there is obviously no financial way you can move to Canada. So to me saying you'll move to Canada isn't even a funny option. Cathy, is it really that expensive to move to Canada? I mean, not being funny. I'm trying to figure out if there are really any options for me. Any hey, everyone in other countries, can you please do me a favor and make sure you tell as many people as possible that he did not win the popular vote here, and that you have friends here that did not vote for him? I just feel so embarrassed for this country right now, that I don't even have enough words for it.

Yes, please, I was going to ask the same thing. Please tell them that the people spoke for Hillary, but that our antiquated system failed us.

Petition going around on change.org . Honestly I don"t think it will change things. The damage is already in process. Even with young kids in schools across the nation. This is really devastation. I am so saddened for every non-white person, muslims, gay.transgender etc. My friends have already shared horrible stories of hatred targeted at them or their families. .My gay friends have had threats already. This is going to get worse. It is not just about the Democrats losing and rights whether it be LGBT or womens rights. Its basically every decent human being rights for safety is at risk. I sob as I type this watching the news of middle -school students shouting " Build the wall-white power"!This vile dangerous thing should never have even been allowed to run. What is even more dangerous than him are his supporters! The KKK supported him! Putin likes him!!! This whole nation is so divided now , friends and family split apart-it would be sad for us as Democrats even if another republican got in but this unhinged lunatic???? Now its beyond that its dangerous for a lot of our fellow citizens. I deplore injustice I believe in compassion and equal rights to all.President Obama was such an awesome President. He brought us so far. I feel so passionate about this I have to cut off communication with my sister and some of my friends who all voted for him. This is very serious! I don"t even have any excitement anymore for next summers concerts ,what will the state of the world be in by then will we have a world or will we be nuked?I know some of you might think I am being really dramatic well I am just being a realist.( Not my president never my president)!

It was sad to read that 45% didn't vote at all. That's almost half the eligible voters! Maybe it wouldn't have changed anything, but still. (Read it a couple of days ago, so maybe not the exact final percentage.)
I think we know Trump didn't win the popular vote. Our media cover your election almost as much as our own and there's been a lot of talk about the electors system. I can understand you feel embarrassed, I would too, but the same winds blow here. Good things can come from this, things need to change, I hold on to that hope. But oh the damage that could be done meanwhile. Still, hope.

It's clear here as well that Trump didn;t win the popular vote. But people don't get the US system, so I don't know if it matters. But hey, I am willingto say my friends didn't voted for Trump.

Carina is right. There was a very low voter turnout. And we know what happens when there is a low voter turnout - the Republican win. Besides that, the election was rigged... However, not in the way Trump predicted - it benefited him. Thought I would share this with you:

I love the memo GrubHub CEO sent to his employees:
SUBJECT: So... that happened... what's next?
I'm still trying to reconcile my own worldview with the overwhelming message that was delivered last night. Clearly there are a lot of people angry and scared as the antithesis of every modern presidential candidate won and will be our next president.
While demeaning, insulting and ridiculing minorities, immigrants and the physically/mentally disabled worked for Mr. Trump, I want to be clear that this behavior - and these views, have no place at Grubhub. Had he worked here, many of his comments would have resulted in his immediate termination.
We have worked for years cultivating a culture of support and inclusiveness. I firmly believe that we must bring together different perspectives to continue innovating - including all genders, races, ethnicities and sexual, cultural or ideological preferences. We are better, faster and stronger together.
Further I absolutely reject the nationalist, anti-immigrant and hateful politics of Donald Trump and will work to shield our community from this movement as best as I can. As we all try to understand what this vote means to us, I want to affirm to anyone on our team that is scared or feels personally exposed, that I and everyone else here at Grubhub will fight for your dignity and your right to make a better life for yourself and your family here in the United States.
If you do not agree with this statement then please reply to this email with your resignation because you have no place here. We do not tolerate hateful attitudes on our team.I want to repeat what Hillary said this morning, that the new administration deserves our open minds and a chance to lead, but never stop believing that the fight for what's right is worth it.

Corporate, sold out, war-hungry Democratic party?? wtf...??? I think this guy is backwards!
That video made my skin crawl. Why can't they look at this as voter fraud and do something? I'm all for doing SOMETHING, anything!
